Liquid mycelium Dextrose, Fructose, honey, or Karo

Which would be the best? I have access to all but pure Dextrose (Glucose).
Fructose is a monosaccaride like Dextrose, is it just as good?
Is any pure sugar better than honey or Karo? is honey better or not as good as Karo?
How about Molasses? I belive it's mostly Sucrose, a diglyceride.

I've used the Karo Tek with success. The only advantage I can see to using Karo over honey is that the clear solution makes contams easier to identify.

dextrose didn't do anything for me either. i have laboratory grade sucrose and haven't tried it since the dextrose didn't work. I stick to the honey. It's cheaper and I don't have to yank chems from work.

Does it say if it is "Clover" honey, or "wildflower" honey, or anything specific about the source of the nectar?

I've got a hunch that the nectar source can have a significant impact. I know it affects what kinds of sugars are in it, and could contain some natural antifungal chemicals, as well as other micronutrients.
Do you have to pressure cook it, or can you just boil it in a pot like PF jars? I'd like to do some experiments with it, but I'm not getting a PC for at least several more months.

What if you used processed honey? I used what ever I had in the house and I only sterlized it for like 5 min in the micro wave but its got mycellium growing in it. Think I should dump it ?

no i wouldnt think it would contaminate. ive got the same scenario going on right now last time i checked it looked alright. as long as you had your lid steril and had your jars water to a boil, it should cook the honey without carmelizing it. i think i used the same kind of honey. if you wait a couple days i can tell you if it works on the jars or not lol

i tried molassis once, it was too dark, couldn't see shit in there. i like honey, but all sugar isn't the 'best' for liquid teks, i like to fortify my honey water now with a teaspoon of instant mashed potato flakes per 100-150 ml of water. also 1/4 teaspoon of nutritional yeast per 200 ml makes a good boost.

Y'know, most of the nutrition of a potato is in it's skin. I bet boiling some potato skins in the water first would more nutrients than the potato flakes, without clouding it up.
Do the potato flakes not make the mycelium harder to see than the molasses?
Maybe some vegetable broth would be a good additave.
