I was at the coast and took a walk and saw fungi everywhere, i saw some that looked like they might be the right kind (sorri to you).. so here there are... this has inspired me at least to learn more, even if they are no good
Habitat: on ground and near (possibly on) what appeared to be cow or horse dung Area: Near Cannon Beach, Oregon Characteristics: golden color caps/ light edges darker center, gills light color/whitish, they looked attached, stem white appeared to stain brown Size: ~1-4" tall, cap D is ~1"
I'll try to find out the spore color soon and post that. thanks for the help
If I am not 100% sure they are the right kind.. i'll toss em, and look for some yummier ones.
thanks

I'm not even going to attempt to identify your mushrooms just because of that comment.

Gumby, that isn't even what he said and you did comment by replying, you seem to be the impatient type. Bad qualities for a mod. P.S. Do not eat those and do more more research on what grows in or around cow dung in Oregon if that is where you are going to look.

[edit: i think] that was what he said before he edited his post... it is easy to lose patience when people's statements suggest (if only due to lack of experience) that they have too little respect for this hobby.

You know that edit feature is tricky, I forgot about it. The fact is most pickers go with only one agenda, money, food or getting high. The mushroom scholar is a rare breed and all newbies should appreciate the fact that Shroomery allows for contact with some of these experts. This is the epic battle on these forums, ignorance vs. knowledge, but the ignorant can learn if they approach with respect and a desire to actually learn. But so many are looking for a shortcut, the quick answer, instant gratification. The amount of information available without even posting a single question is staggering and all anyone has to do is a little research. Blah blah blah!

Yeah dont eat those dude. so ya know. i got flamed once because i posted some extra super small mushrooms a while back. and asked if they where worth eating. I look for edibles alot more then i search for psycadelics cause thats all you will find here in utah. getting flamed over wrong words sucks. peace.
