I think it's becoming obvious that McD and the team aren't going to get pushed around by crybaby prima donna players.

This is the exact same as the Cutler situation.

And Broncos fans say Cutler forced a trade.

So if they don't trade Marshall, it's all a bunch of hooey.

McDaniel probably wants to knock them down to nothing and remake them in his own image, which is not necessarily a bad plan if he can keep the job long enough.  However, given the particularly vacuous rabidness which seems to emanate from the low oxygen fans that is not likely.  I hope he keeps his address secret and has an escape route planned for when they put up consecutive sub .400.

We just need to trade him and get it over with. It's funny how humans work. In Marshalls anger at not getting more money, he cost himself a bunch of money by showing the world that he's like a bunch of other guy's, Cutler included, who will basically throw a a fit and mess with the team as much as possible unless they're getting their way 24/7.

Trade him.

Yep, Chris Cooper, Peyton Hillis and Eddie Royal have all gone down with injuries.  Royal is back in though.

IMO, Cooper will be done for the year.

Well, to be fair, ANYONE could wreck this Denver D. They showed that they were giving up something like 380 yards a game. :puke:

This 3rd string QB looks nice. He'll be starting soon.

Nono.

Cutler *forced* them to trade him.

They had no choice, doncha know.

Never mind that Marshall is pulling the same thing at a more crucial time and they are doing what they should've done with Cutler, namely, ignoring his shit.

There's a world of difference in the situations, not the least of which is that Cutler was the face of the franchise and the starting Pro Bowl QB.

"DENVER -- There were no effigies at the airport. No flaming Jay Cutlers erected in the stadium parking lots. The local villagers didn't march to the Chicago Bears' team hotel, pitchforks in hand, demanding their 233 pounds of fleshy quarterback.

What a letdown, huh?

I didn't get a chance to scour the bars, the suburbs or the offseason mountain resorts, but I'm pretty sure, aside from one tavern's ill-fated, much-advertised jersey-destroying bash, the overall reaction to Cutler's return to Denver was pretty tame."

looks like cutler was right about those "lukewarm" fans.

Orton is fail... if it takes you 2 years to get noticed when Rex Grossman is playing ahead of you....  just go back to college and get a degree in not sucking.

from what i saw of the denver game, the only thing they got going for them is solid D line with a mediocre secondary.

hahaa that's actually kind of funny that u said that.

Im not going to judge a whole fanbase  by myself.  Like i said i'm not a Denver hater.  I just find the whole situation funny.

Cutler called u guys a lukewarm fan base, and basically got a lukewarm hatred reception when he came back.

You think Green Bay is going to react as pussyified when Favre comes strolling in on purple pads?

Uhhhhhhhh..............yeah, he did get booed down.  Every single camera angle was shaking from the stomping and noise.  Both Al Michaels and Collinsworth commented on it many times.

ah fair enough, maybe the guy who wrote that espn article is just delusional.  And that wouldn't be the first time.

gl with the rebuilding this season guys...i hope McD builds something that might resemble a defense.

Sucks that Moreno is injured, but I do believe Eddie Royal is just going to get better.

I'm nowhere near Denver, but it was all over the Chicago news today that Pat Bowlen is claiming to have a memory problem and that he might have forgotten that Jay Cutler did, in fact, return his (Bowlens) calls.

A little copypasta in case whattheheck can't click the link.

Quote:

http://sports.espn.go.com/espnmag/reillygofish

The Denver Broncos' Pat Bowlen used to be one of the cleverest owners in sports. But now he's being undercut by an insidious opponent -- himself.

Bowlen, 65, admitted recently that he has "short-term memory loss." There are whole parts of the Broncos' Super Bowl seasons he says he can't recall.

Bowlen still insists Jay Cutler never called him back during McJay Gate this winter, which left him "no choice" but to trade a dead-lock Pro Bowl 26-year-old quarterback for Kyle Orton and draft choices.

But I've now got it from three different sources -- who choose to remain unidentified -- that Cutler did call Bowlen back.

"Jay called him twice," said one source. "It's unbelievable it came to this."

Is it possible Bowlen forgot?

People close to the team are starting to wonder how much the memory loss is affecting Bowlen's decision making. Disgrunted wide receiver Brandon Marshall says Bowlen promised him in June that he'd trade him. Yet Marshall remains untraded and unhappy.

They're also noticing that more and more of the final decisions have come down to Chief Operating Officer Joe Ellis, a cousin of George W. Bush, who is not a football guy and definitely not a Cutler fan. If you recall, Ellis alone made the trip out to Boston to have a second conversation with the Broncos' highly suspect new 33-year-old head coach, Josh McDaniels.

And how's this for weird: Bowlen admitted in May that he still hadn't spoken to the coach he fired, Mike Shanahan. Those two used to be the best of friends. Not even a phone call? Is Bowlen sure?

These and other curious goings-on have left the team with slim hopes and two Salvation Army QBs -- Kyle Orton and Chris Simms. Letting Cutler go will cost the franchise for years to come. This season, the general Las Vegas over/under on Broncos wins is seven. They'll be lucky to get six.

Making a lot of Denver fans will wish they could forget, too.

The chain of events leading to Cutler in Chicago is mind boggling.  A Hall-of-Fame quarterback (Brady) on a Super Bowl level team goes down, elevating his obscure backup to the leadership role.  That QB, despite never playing a down of college ball, plays well enough to get his offensive coordinator (Mcdaniels) head-coaching interviews.  Meanwhile, a Pro-Bowl QB (Cutler) has his defense collapse underneath him in the stretch run leading to the firing of his Hall-of-Fame bound coach at the end of the season.  McDaniels gets hired in Denver but decides he might like his old back-up QB better and attempts to make a trade.  Cutler gets wind of it and gets mad.  Crazy Owner calls Cutler, Cutler calls back crazy owner, owner *forgets Cutler calls* and tells the entire country that Cutler is a big fat liar.  Cutler gets traded to Chicago.

Un-Fucking-Believable.

If they put it on television nobody would believe it.

Deion Sanders was one of the greatest ever at his position, a two sport threat, and one of the greatest pure athletes of all time. Not to mention that Greg Maddux said he was the example of a perfect team mate. Chad isn't quite that.

I don't know what to say. What if it's true?

I had teachers back in the day that would lie to principals, administrators, cops, judges, whatever, and it made me furious. I'm more than willing to stand up for what I've done, but for someone else to pad their case with lies, well...

So if this is true, then I don't blame Jay at all, how else could the man react? This story has gone beyond bizarre.

Either way Madtown, your position that the defense allowed for the collapse last year is an ignorant and totally incomplete position, although I'm sure Jonny is proud of your argument. I watched all of those games start to finish, and your man crush had as much to do with the collapse as anyone.
