Jars VS Aquariums

In past years I'd tried to grow mushrooms using the aquarium method wherein I simply inoculated it and let it happen. I wasn't successfull as contamination occurred..

Now I've decided to try again and I see lots of people using glass jars to start things off-- what is the advantage of this over simply using the aquarium? It seems like much more work!

wow use the aquarium as your jar? i'd say that was a low spore to substrate amount. but with jars thats lowered so mycellium has a easier time running thru before contam does.

TYM, you innoculated or spawned?
i'm a little lost but if you meant the first then it's no wonder it contamed.
if you you meant the latter, i'd like to hear an account of your process(es), sub, spawn material, etc.
