Tips and Tricks to getting PF cakes out of the jar

I am looking for someones really slick technique to get a PF cake out of the jar (even if it means breaking it) without hurting the cake real bad or filling the mushrooms full of glass.

you should just lightly slam in your hand and it should wiggle out. if you packed your substr8 and it aint comin out u can carefully break the glass around it :frown:

If you had a wide-mouth jar, it should come out really easily, if it seems stuck you may have to "thump" the bottom with your free palm.

Trust me, I've done every different thump pump and bump on this bastard, its in there, its like the wide-mouth has an undulation in the glass thats fucking me up.

I think I'll try finding some way to crack the glass in a controlled manner.

Actually, on second thought, I'm going to let the one mature mushroom get really old and huge, and print it, its tapalpa, someones probably interested in that right?

The cake might shrink then.

Why don't you stop being a girly man and break the cake up and case the mofo :tongue:?  Seriously, breaking the jar is not worth it, and what if your one big shroom grows on the bottom of your cake and you can harvest it.  Just break the cake and case it.

If you are casing you can stab it with a sterilized screw driver or your fingers and just start tearing it out in pieces. That's what I did.

:tongue: I've already got as many casings as I can handle!  I didnt even expect this one to fruit, I was eventually going to use it to spawn birdseed, but now I'm working on a truncated timeline and it had stalled colonizing, so I punched it around in the jar trying to get it out so I could case, but instead, I forgot about it.

A second jar, same strain and everything, was cased 50/50 and given to a friend as a gift.. we'll see if he can get 3 that size out of it :wink:
