1st Grow in Fruiting Chamber Need Some Advice

Alright, this is an exciting moment. Giving birth to my cakes.

I only birthed two of my 5. I was wondering if what I'm using as a fruiting chamber is gonna be good ( I hope ) I dont have nothing to measure the humidity but it's pretty humid here ( Quebec ) but it's fairly cold today tho.
I damp the perlite a little bit. I just put some transparent wrap on top.
You think it's gonna grow ? I say why not, but I'm not an expert, far from it.
How many time I spray and air, indirect sunlight is good ?
Any advice, help, comment would be appreciated.
Hope everything's good
Thank you very much
Peace and Love

also taping plastic wrapover the top is going to inhibit Fresh air exchange and will probably provide very crappy results
you are going to need to fan out the chamber 4 or 5 times a day followed by a light misting to replace lost moisture..

Dunk and roll your cakes! Also alot of folks like shotgun FC. Which requires you to put holes in it. Check this out it will explain all. http://www.mushroomvideos.com/

things to do to improve success
- get a piece of plexi glass or a suitable lid that is easy to remove for fanning and misting.
- dunk your cakes in clean water for 24 hours after birthing.. then roll in dry vermiculite
- get a hygrometer to monitor RH
-drill some holes in the FC to cut down on how much you wil need to fan them

Okay, Thanks for the information.
So, I will put them in water ( when you mean clean, is tap water fine ? ) I let them 24 hours, and roll them in vermiculite and put them in my fruiting chamber ( That I will try to improve during this 24 hours )
I read something about puting them in the fridge ?
Thanks again !

How is that scary? Mushrooms are 90% water!
Your cake will preform MUCH better if you dunk and roll it. If anything you are more likely not to get fruit without dunking, considering the possibility that your cakes may have lost too much moisture during colonization. DUNK EM! ROLL EM IN VERM!
I've compared and contrasted dunked and rolled cakes. The cakes that were dunked and rolled fruited 1 week earlier and produced 2-3 times as many mushrooms.
Also, you NEED holes in that chamber for fresh air exchange. Drill as many 1/4 inch holes as you can, 2 -3 inches apart.
Without fresh air exchange those cakes will produce long, stringy fruits with tiny caps.
If your going to grow, do it right.

tap water will be ok but filtered or distilled would be better...
and yeah if you can find a lid for that tub it will make your life alot easier
you should drill holes in all six sides 1/4 inch and about 2 inches apart
search shotgun fc and see how other people are doing it
rght now with that setup you arent getting the much needed fresh air exchange to your cakes and will probably throw off very unhealthy straggly shrooms if any at all
as for light yes indirect light from a nearby window should suffice

Okay well now that I learned about dunking, I will dunk them for 24 hours, wich will give me time to buy a better fruiting chamber. I bought two plastic box a year ago but they are not transparent so I believe it wont work well. I think I should go buy a nice transparent one today

ehh thats a pretty small chamber and for only 2 cakes that should work but if you have more perlite than go ahead and add it as long as u get a hygrometer an monitor your RH it should be ok

Everything you need to know about PF tek can be found in those first four videos. If you ever do PF tek again, go by what they do.
However, start researching on bulk grows. The links in my signature are plenty to get you started. Once you go bulk, you understand why you can never go back!

Thanks for the links. I just got myself a nice transparent fruiting chamber. I guess I will try the shotgun chamber. Right now I dunked my two cakes in water. Should I put them in the fridge to keep the water cold ? Also I didn't found a hygrometer. I have one in my incubator but it's a cheap one, might still use it

It's been now almost 1 week with no signs. The cakes were kinda dry when I touch them so I dunk them again for 24 hours and I have a new cake coming.
Is it normal to have no sign after a week ? And someone knows why my cake get dry often ? The humidity is around 80 ( I think my hygrometer stop there... ) I put a little light beside the FC, it doesnt seem to produce much heat, so I don't know.
Cheers

ok dude your humidity needs to be at 90-99. Also what kind of light do you have. I just use defused sunlight.
