overwatered jars
    #1094363 - 11/28/02 04:39 PM (21 years, 2 months ago)

About a month ago i used the same amount of water as i always did, just this time i used a different kind of vermiculite, a larger, less fine type which doesn't have the same mass when the volumes were the same. Thus the water was inproportioned with the other ingredients. I didn't think it was too overwatered but now i wish i had done it over again. After a month of colonization, my 12 jars range from about 30% to 60% complete. Is there anything i could do about it, should i wait, or should i just start over because the overwatering can effect the yields if colonization ever completes? Any suggestions will be appreciated, thanx.

If they are still colonizing, leave them be. If they stop for a long time, dump them.

dont worry too much about the water content when it comes to birthing them...it will work itself out.

If I were you I'd definently wait for the jars to colonize completely before tossing them. They may take longer to finish due to the extra h20, but that doesn't mean they won't finish. If they stop growing at any point, then it's time to toss.
