Plugging your ears???

ok. tripped last week. here's a VERY good "trip tip." if ur tripping hard, like level4, close ur eyes or cover ur head in the dark, then plug ur ears w/ur fingers...every time i did this it induced VERY vivid CEV's. try it. i did it when my OEV's were calming. has anyone ever tried this, or if u do, tell me if it works...when i plugged my ears, i heared a "humming" inside my head...i think thats what really induced my CEV's. so, plug ur ears & listen for that humming...try it!

No I don't think its on the web but I just finished reading that book last week - he gets too much into his timewave theory, but the rest of the book was fantastic reading
That guy always intrigues me.
Edit #1(Addition): oh and as for plugging the ears.. I've never done that because I hear that sound anyway while on psychedelics - silence is REALLY LOUD and its quite noticeable while under the influence.
While shrooming I notice how LOUD silence is, and I also notice how BRIGHT darkenss is
-=- Matt/Strumpling -=- guess thats impossible though..

yea, the timewave is beyond my concept i was in boulder at one of his retreats were he tried to further elaborate on it, and it still baffles me but ya gotta love the guy. he has taken psychedelics to a whole new level. his storys are amazing, and someone who`s got that high i`ll follow anywhere his other books are a real treat and i consider him a great philosopher. it`s to bad we lost him. the mushroom culture owes so much to him. truely a man before his time

I have understood most of Terrence McKenna's stuff, but the timewave and where he gets his formulas from the I Ching and all that I dunno....
I took 5 HBWR seeds and laid down in the dark and all of a sudden all of Terrence's stuff was clear as a bell, but of course, the next morning- all gone.
The cool thing about his theories and talks is that when you finally do "get it" it's all so horribly simple you can't figure out why everyone on the planet didn't figure it out centuries ago. Terrence was WAY ahead of his time, mabey a little too far ahead.

i find that a pair of full ear enclosing headphones and some good goa trance work better than plugged ears, the headphones insulate the sound and the repetitive beats induce both intense CEV's and OEV's

You're right there. Something about a set of headphones and some great music that's much more intense than music pumping out of a stereo. Silence IS loud. It's pretty fucking bizarre.

your damn right. That's what me and my friend did last trip. We were outside walking around and we had a discman....and had some pink floyd playing. It's WAY different than having the music coming out of a stereo. very trippy

Especially with modern production techniques - headphones are where its at, until we're all listening to dvds in surround-sound oo boy!

the name has temporarly escaped my mind, but there are a few groups who incorporate stereo occilations in, the feeling of having the sound sucked back and forth between ears is very interesting, although it is sometimes intimidating

many electronic artists do this with large atmospheric backgrounds, but yes I remember reading about a group of people who messes specifically with pitch of tones and sounds in either ear - apparently when you offset the pitch in each ear by certain amounts, it does weird things to one's brain

Ever heard Coil? It's the kind of music that you need to listen to on headphones because the sound flips from each headphone. Pretty paranoid stuff.
