can anyone identify these please?

hi.
this is my first post on here so i am a bit nervous. i read all your tutorials and read first stuff and i think i am complying to your guidelines,if not please forgive me and let me know what i did wrong.


some pretty lil shrooms here.
i dont believe they are psychoactive,i just have never saw these here before and would like to get a ID.

they are a gilled mushroom about two inches tall,with the cap being about the size of a quarter.the stem is proportional to the cap.


the stem is white with a vertical purple/lavender grain to it.

no noticeable discoloring when bruised.

the spore print is brown

they were found in a area of mostly hardwoods at a elevation of about 1900 feet in the north Georgia mountains.

i couldn't get a decent picture of the underside and the stem but i figure they are distinctive enough someone should be able to identify them.if not i can maybe try again today if they are still up.




i did a little looking on the web and thought it may be a woods blewitt but upon further research they seem far too small for a woods blewitt.

if folks would quit stealing our mushroom guides when they come to visit this would be much easier..

any help would be appreciated.thank you for your time.

5-7 is a Cortinarius, maybe Cortinarius iodes. But that's an Eastern US species. Where are you located?
8 is Mutinus caninus.

i am in the north georgia mountains. right where TN,GA and NC come together.


i saw photos of the Cortinarius last night and thought that may have been them. i will have to look into what you said the other was.
