Legalizing pot could lead to its health downfall!
    #10927421 - 08/24/09 05:05 PM (11 years, 6 months ago)

I am a supporter of legalization. Up until now there have been no reasons why it should not be.

However, if they legalized it, we wouldn't be buying pot and having to roll our own joints anymore. Pot would be sold like cigarettes. That means the government would have reign of the type of pot growing. They would be spraying it with all sorts of chemicals, and radioactive substances, and that is the main reason tabacco is so bad. It is filled with radioactive chemicals perpetrated by the government. That means people who smoke it would be at higher risk of cancers! Plus, I could almost guaruntee it would not be potent. Like the government wants people walking around stoned.

Not necessarily, anyone can grow their own, it's pretty easy. You can also buy cigarettes, or you can buy tobacco straight from the plantation, along with various organic and specialty tobaccos. I don't see how marijuana would be any different (in fact, I see it being sold in the same way wine is).

In fact, how do you know the weed you're buying isn't sprayed with radioactive pesticides?

No, nicotine and the various additives that tobacco companies add to tobacco to make it more addictive are the main reasons tobacco is so bad.

Um, no. Maybe by Monsanto or something, but not necessarily the government.

Which it is why it is illegal in the first place. If it wasn't potent people simply wouldn't buy it.

Hahaha.... no. Unlike cigarettes, marijuana is pretty easy to produce by practically anyone which means people will be able to grow their own supply. Also dispensaries would be selling marijuana that would be grown by somewhat experienced growers that would have no interest to spray other chemicals on their bud.

I think widespread use of pesticides, prescription medications that could have a serious side effect over looked, or the use preservatives im our food of unknown long term use side effects are A LOT more dangerous than pot smoke.
