flour moth larva
    #10925081 - 08/24/09 07:58 AM (14 years, 6 months ago)

I have 2 BRF jars that had to sit for 36 hour because i could not steam them.

woke up and threw them in the steamer for 90 min. when they were cool-ish i removed them and inspected them only to notice some dead flour moth larva (tiny maggots) in the jars.

since i have already killed them thru steam sterilization, do ya think i can just ignor them and knock up the jars? i figure they will just end up as MYC food... right?

Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles.

I'm not sure but in nature, many fungi live off of dead and decaying matter. Including dead larve I suppose. If they are steam sterilized I would go ahead with them. However if anyone with real life experience tells you otherwise, I would listen to them.
