I just cheat, it's a nuisance at best. Largely I feel it just weeds out the people who are probably not too fit to work in the first place.

The only time I'll ever take a drug test is when a judge orders it and the consequence is jail.

You don't get drug tested for work here in Australia, I can't even comprehend drug testing for work, it's literally making my head explode.

I wouldn't piss in a cup for middle management... actually I would, then throw it in his face, run away and go earn my $$ busking with a bit of dignity.

No matter where you work here, if you want to be covered under workmans compensation, like if you get hurt, or have good health insurance (which is only affordable if its company supplied, if you have to buy it on your own, its more than ridiculous), you will get drugtested.  To work as a checker at the grocer you will get drug tested, to flip burgers at a fast food place, you will get tested, to work in construction, tested, damn near ANY company, you get tested unfortunately.  However, most the time, its one time at the beginning, and easy to pass if u just put a tiny bit of effort into it...as krypto said, if you fail your drugtest, you probably are incompetent to work, since you can't even do the simple task of passing a drug test...you don't have to not do drugs, just pass a test like any other...

And yes, its bullshit, but thats reality here...hopefully it will change eventually...

peace

I just hope that more places follow suit, first with decriminalization and then legalization.

Still playing off of old racial fears and drug company money.

The biggest problem I face with the whole decriminalization movement is the fact that employers will still test for it and it will still be difficult to attain a good paying job if you like to smoke.

I'm not so sure. Employers certainly don't care for the most part, they would rather not pay for unnecessary lab tests. It's the insurance companies or something such as that that causes these tests to be done. I think this will be a lingering after effect, but once marijuana is legal they will likely change as well.

Most "good" paying jobs DO NOT drug test employees. Its the jobs that are mediocre or have opportunities of big fuck ups that drug test.

Its a really biased system based on a large part of socio-economics.

That's not really true, marijuana has definitely been shown to impair coordination and judgment. It's the paranoia factor that balances it all out for you. You end up worrying about about what you're doing  so much that you act with extreme caution.:tongue2:

Not as severely, but there is impairment, and when someone is driving a truck I like to see them well-rested and fully alert. If they want to smoke after work, they are welcome to it. On their day off they can inject pcp into their eyeballs for all I care, but when operating dangerous machinery they better be stone cold sober.

Just because some one smokes pot doesn't mean that they are high all the time

I know many 'potheads' that do not get high at work

claiming that there are certain jobs that 'potheads' can't do is simply ignorance
