DMT smoke = harsh, any way to combat this?

Is there any way to make the DMT vapor more tolerable? I can't get big enough hits to break thru, only minor visuals

Ice bong makes anything hit smooth.  Maybe try a vaporizer, dunno if it would work though.

Don't suck in so hard, what you're doing is getting the actual spice in your mouth, which tastes horrible. Inhale very softly, and make sure you're only getting the smoke.

Okay, i'll go again tomorrow, ~50mg. I'll suck it much slower, I think today I tried to get as much as i could as quickly as possible.

How much time do I have to suck it all in? a min? 30sec?

My first time I did the exact same thing, sucked so hard the spice got in my throat and I could taste it for the rest of the day, it was horrible.

The first hit is the only hit that matters, the rest is just icing on the cake. Take a slow, deep, hit, hold until you're blue in the face, take another one, try and hold it in just until you think you're about to go, then take one more and fall back - you won't remember letting that one go.

I have heard that you should wait 1 hour after coming back from a DMT breakthrough to do it again...I can't remember where I read this, maybe erowid?

yeah, I use either blue lotus, or damiana usually.
Of course I rarely smoke from an oil burner anymore.
I usually just stick to a regular pipe.

It makes it so much easier to smoke and I don't get
nauseous nearly as often.

go outside on a sunny day with the dmt in your pipe. bring a magnifying lens and smoke it with the sun. it will vaporize it better and shouldnt be as harsh. i always found dmt to have a plastic like taste. not too bad though

  Infuse the herb with the DMT with some ISO alcohol.  Throw a pinch of Rue in there.  Then you have Changa.  It is way easier to smoke. You wont waste any DMT this way and it is smoother.

SLOW DEEP HIT as stated previously. Also make a "machine" pipe, it will help significantly in this.

As others have said, changa is the shit and makes the experience better IME, I also almost always smoke out of a larger bong or a bowl but never an oil burner. I would think that if you are using an oil burner though, that you should pre-melt your deemsters into the pipe so you don't have to worry about sucking in crystals of spice, not cool. Anyways, try pre-heating and if that doesn't do it for ya' then just get yourself a plastic bong for use with only dmt, for obvious reasons.

first things first throw the meth/oil pipe away and get one of these http://www.smokingpipeshop.com/images/95715147354.jpg or anything with metal bowl that you can use as a water bong

fresh screen..line the bottom of bowl with ASHES ...Load the spice as much as you want....put ashes on top...get a butane torch lighter and head the outside of the bowl until you see it smoking....then suck and light the ashes = breakthrough without pain.

the water is the key element...also the metal bowl....any bong will do

if you smoke it properly its not harsh at all. if you overflame it and overheat it, thats when you get the really nasty plastic-y taste and harsh vapor. vaping on glass is really an artform and isn't really worth as an ROA for a beginner (if you are one).


i think you'd be better off with just making some enhanced leaf with your dmt, or using the sandwich method as others have mentioned. these ways are far less harsher, easier to smoke, and also delivers that all in one BIG HIT that will really send you far out, as opposed to 3-4-5-6 wispy tokes over a few minutes. i actually prefer changa over freebase, cos you just take one fat rip. put the bong down, hold it in and lay back and :awesurprise:

DMT is very easy to burn when using your oil burner/meth pipe.
Hold the flame well below the bowl, with about an inch of space between the TIP of the flame and the bowl. Your flame should never touch the pipe.
Once your DMT begins to melt (which is very quick) spin the pipe from side to side to allow the puddle to move around as you inhale. If it sits in one spot it will burn very quickly.
