Mescaline juice shelf life?

Hey guys!

Well i have roughly 70 gel caps or two doses of +-20g's of dried san pedro.  This isnt enough for a decent dose between me and my gf i dont think.

I have some cactus juice that has been sitting out at room temp for a few weeks.  Does this stuff go bad?  I wanted to boil it down to a residue and try and pop some that way since the concentrated liquid is unbearable.

Does san pedro lose potency in juice form over time?  I head this from a friend

I think you'll be ok, mescaline is pretty stable chemical.

I was wondering the same thing, just for bringing a brew out to a fest for myself or something.

thats great to hear!

i was just concerned that it would go sour, or something.  But it smells and looks exactly the same, except that the mescaline has seperated from the water and now sits at the bottom.

Boiling it down then rollin in flour

Yeah, I have no idea if it would go sour or not actually. I trust it didn't based on what you said. If it did go sour though chances are the mescaline is still active, it's just... some nasty shit in that cactus.

Might want to be cautious of that, but without having much knowledge I'd say just treat it as you would a fruit juice yunno. It'll go sour overtime, but it's got a reasonable shelf life, and cacti isn't full of sugars either which I think plays a large role in the degradation of fruit juice and the like.

Sugar can also be used as a preservative though, but I'm not sure how it works. Lemon juice lasts far longer than some OJ though for instance.

I wouldn't touch it.  Sure mescaline is stable but your brew stored at room temperature for weeks is a breeding ground for all sorts of nasty bacteria.

I wouldn't even consider drinking it.

That's a good point. Wouldn't you normally taste it if it's been contaminated though? Would boiling not fix this?

On another note, if it is fucked, you could always extract it, no need to toss it out.

brew stored in a plastic bottle in the freezer will last months. you can just thaw it out again when you are ready to drink it. storing juice at room temp for a week sounds like an invitation for the nasties. :tp:  :toilet:

How are you feeling?  From what I understand you can keep dosing mescaline and building a stronger trip.  Maybe take half and then reassess the situation in 45 minutes.

took 13 g between 715 and 8ish
another 10 g between 8ish and 9
up to 23 g

nothing yet, maybe a little fuzzy.  The balls i rolled them into were rather hard, some were softer than others but at leist half were pretty solid.  This may just make it take alott longer to break down in my belly.

I wouldn't drink it if its been in room temp (germs), if it was refrigerated it would last for a looooooooong time.

well roughly 5 hours later and not much going on
took 23g

I don't know if it was enough, i felt alott of the precursor  effects but never quite tripped.  Definitely something there though.  I recognize the feeling in my teeth, and there is a sensation moving up and down my back and spine.  A little warm.  Eyes feel glazedover/focusing/unfocusing.

up the dose and try again later.  At leist next time I have some peeled and dried gel caps.  60g or so should do the trick!

I've been there with disappointing cactus experiments.  The trick is to take more than you think you should.

im surprised the effect was so diminished.  When me and my gf went camping we both took 1.5 of shrooms, naturally she being the tiny one had a great trip, but i barley reached the threshold. 

meh its a learning experience.

The plus?  Well, Ive never tried boiling down to a black tar residue, it works great!  I was worried about the taste in the past but this is so much easier, no taste at all! no caps! no snot drink!  I just hope that this way doesn't reduce potency, has anyone else tried this method?

I've done it by placing a small fan next to the pot and then constantly stirring it until it turns into thick mucus. As long as you don't burn it, it doesn't lose potency.

I've got the juice from one of my cacti in a shaker in the fridge, how long could this last? Both regarding potency and going moldy or whatever.

you do realise that you just bumped a 5year old thread dude :huxleyfacepalm: in answer to your question not very long if you leave it in a fridge, i'd say a week max. If you want long term storage for your cacti tea then freeze it and only thaw it out when you are ready to use it. No one can tell you potency as it varies to greatly, it's all trial and error and if you learn enough about cacti you will begin to learn the best cacti to use.
