Advanced ramen cooking recipes?
    #10912337 -

I want to take my ramen to the next level, usually I just boil in an egg with the noodles until after they are mushy soft.

Does anyone have any blends or different recipes they use for ramen? If so, share em!!!

boil noodles with sauce packet in water.  once soft enough to eat, drain noodles, toss the water.

Throw drained noodles into frying pan with plenty of oil, and some onion, veggies, etc.

Now throw in like 2 TBSP chunky peanut butter.

Assorted other sauces will benefit also - cock sauce:

soy sauce, anything weird looking at the chinaman store.

I lived on this sort of thing for a few months.

1 tsp olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp minced fresh ginger
1/2 cup bean sprouts
1/2 cupcabbage, chopped
1 carrot-Cut carrots into long thin strips with a knife or peeler
4 cups water
1 soup mix packet
2 tsp soy sauce

Heat olive oil in a large skillet, and add the minced ginger and garlic.

Add the carrots, bean sprouts, and cabbage and saute for a few minutes. (dont let it burn, keep the heat low)

Pour warm water in the skillet, and add your soup mix, and soy sauce bringing it to a boil.

Add the noodles, cover your skillet or pan, then turn the heat off to let it simmer for a minute or two.

And sauce. Sauce is important. Sauce is the heart of any dish.

Just add a few dashes of crushed red pepper in it, before it starts to boil.

Don't add too much water. I always seem to add the perfect amount, wellll.
You are set from there.

Thats where the variety comes in!  Drain the water for a nice stir-fry, or leave it in for a soup!  The options!

This way you can last twice as long living off ramen before you get so sick of it the thought makes you queasy!

Good point. That'll work.

If you can get seafood-mix with shellfish and shrimps combined that is always a good bet.

Don't forget about seaweed either if you want to do the Japanese thing. Normally you'd use seeweed with udon noodles but works with ramen as well.

Sriracha hot sauce is the best with ramen noodles, I found that out way too late in life and now its hard for me to eat them without it. I keep my noodles pretty simple, usually just the hot sauce and sometimes if I need to thicken it, I add some butter. I am a simple guy

Always use quality Chinese sourced ramen when available(there should be 3 separate flavorings per pack as opposed to one, including an oil).

The super ramen(not too tasty, but packs a punch):

-Add a good bit of olive oil(a tbsp? maybe more) to 1 and a 1/2 the amount of water normally used to cook ramen.
-Bring to a boil and add 1-2 grams of ground cannabis bud.
-Keep at a low boil for about 45min.
-Strain.  This is optional.  Those of true grit eat the herb along with it!
-Add ramen flavoring and noodles and cook ramen as usual.
-Wait to cool and then add a determined amount of chopped psilocybe mushrooms.  I feel that a low dose goes along with oral cannabis best, so I recommend, say, ~2Gs of cubes.
-Enjoy.  It is heavy on the stomach due to the oil so start with an empty stomach.  A bit of smoked cannabis after eating is also recommended to ease into the coming state and help with digestion.

The key with ramen is to cook untill the water evaporates almost all the way and then it will form a thick consistency ,rather than watered down juice.

Ontop of all the good ingredients and techinics already mentioned.

Your recipe does sound tasty but I'm sure many would find mine "decent" in effect, if not in taste .

Seriously though people, if you're cooking ramen plain or just adding a few things to it, the noodles are the most important thing.  If your noodle bag is covered in mostly Chinese characters and has packets for oil, spice, and flavoring inside, you have the good kind.

Eatin ramen without cooking it down is like throwing 5 noodles in the ocean and tryin to fish them out with a spoon.....

Consistency is a major part of cooking anything and I hate watered down anything,I even cook down regular soup to thick consistency or add lots of crackers.

I had a friend that thought like that and when he'd cook ramen noodles
the were a gooey mass of crap that couldnt be picked up with a fork, I
imagine it would be like eating paste from school

personally I like to toss out the flavor packet and use either a real
broth or a bullion base, I slice what ever veggies I have available very
thin, add a little oil to a skillet, saute them for a minute and toss
the cooked noodles on top, ass some form of meat like a sirloin cooked
medium and also sliced thin, one steak can top about 4 bowls of ramen

best tasting/easiest recipe ever=

fried ramen

Oriental flavor is by far the best for this method of preparation.

Boil the noodles normally.  Strain them in a colander and rinse/knead noodles with your hands to clean them of excess starch.

Fire up a pan and cover it in butter.  Fry the noodles on medium-high, working them around with a spatula to cut/evenly fry.  At this point, you can decide as how hard or soft you like your noodles.  I personally prefer mine a little softer, but to each his own.

I usually do 2-3 packs at a time, adding one pack of seasoning about 1/2 way through, another at 3/4, and another right when I turn off the burner.  I like to add soy sauce at the very end too.  I'm also a big fan of the Sriracha that everyone is advocating.

Easy as hell and for all of about 30 cents.
