I was thinking the same thing. Half pints may be perfect. Could even use the dry verm layer as a casing layer if you were willing to take the chance.

A larger jar would have too much sub below the casing, and it would not be optimal.

Not perfect for stones, but it may work for Mexy shrooms... perhaps someone will test the theory.

I love Mexicanae. There is so much that still needs to be learned about them.

I have Brown rice flour, Dark Rye flour, Rye Grass Seed, Wild Bird Seed and Organic Rye berries.

Naw... not invitro.. not exactly. We're wondering if you can open a pf tek jar, and water the verm... see if you get shrooms from a pf tek jar like a mini-casing. I'm sure it'd work with other substrates but not sure about brf.

It's an old technique from back in the day- fruiting in jars.
The top of the jar helps to hold in moisture and hep with the microclimate above the casing layer.
