The truth is that they dont really matter. As you post here and interact over a long period of time, im talking a few years, the good rates that you potentially can get outweigh the rapes from OTD. Ive been raped at least twice. Dont let them get you. they WANT you to react and get you in a flame war or just to get you to complain, best thing to do is to blow it off, move on and post with intent to cause positive discussion.

The rapes are just a by-product of OTDers being OTDers.  With the "no rules apply" way we run the OTD there WILL and ALWAYS be ratings rapes.  Period.

Eh, your rating doesn't matter, but an insult is an insult. Ratings pages are sort of like yearbooks that people can "sign". If they post obscene language and images it sort of ruins it - why would I want to subject others to disgusting pictures and hateful rants because they opened my ratings? Better to just get rid of it.

I didnt read all of this but I read somewhere before that the OTD stuff cannot leave OTD without having some consequence from ythan. I think its ironic however that OTD IS allowed to spill over into our personal ratings. Sure they really dont mean anything when they are good... but they sure as hell mean something if they are bad.

just becaus you think they didn't deserve it doesn't mean they didn't, to them they did..so hence they did.  each person on this site gets one rating per person, we get to use it how we want.  its just ratings grow up.  people get called out on how they act, thats all their is to it.  99% of the time those getting raped did something knowingly or not to deserve it.  which includes needing to be taught a lesson

think about it, you go into the pub and make pub type posts and you get good ratings.  but if you post some fucked up shit in the pub you get bad ratings....otd is just the opposite. 

otd is the opposite, hence you end up with the opposite ratings.

think of the pub as a dog...mans best friend,  otd is like a lion, you can try to earn its trust....but you'll prolly just end up as brunch, ate up and spit back out
