Hey everyone, I have been reading this awesome forum for a a year or so now and posted a few times, trying to gain as much knowledge as possible. I have recently been interested in grafting specifically, after seeing some amazing Lophophora on Pereskiopsis grafts resulting in extremely fast growth. Unfortunately, living in the U.S., acquiring a Loph is difficult. I decided to graft one of my Peruvian Torch seedlings to a M. Geometrizans following M.S. Smiths Closet Cactus Care guide. How does this look for a first graft?? I made sure to line up the rings on the cut ends. Also, what lighting conditions should I keep this cactus in while it is healing? Here are the pictures:

I keep everyone updated on this graft and its progress.

Looks ok, you don't need that bag for a flat graft of that age. I'd just put in a lower light area for a week or so.

It looks pretty good to me, you did your research for sure. The only thing to worry about is if you can see between the skin of the stock and scion in a few days. If you can, its drying out and not good. Even if the graft fails, you can retry in most cases with the same two plants. I hope it all works out, if it doesent, its probably not your fault. We all have grafts fail sometimes. Looks good.

Thanks for the quick, informative replies! I will take it out of the bag and put it under low wattage CFLs in moderate humidity until the graft heals. Also, about the Lophs, seeds would be great. I will continue to look around and to post here with updates about my ethno gardening adventures!
