Folding@home Q?

I have a newer pc that I don't use much that i can hook up for folding @home it is a amd 64x2 dual core 5600+ 2.90 ghz,3.25 GB ram DDR 2/3 Sat drive etc anyway it's alot faster than the one i'm on ...


Sooo my question can i run this program offline and just upload the stats b/c I don't really use this online as much but i can some ... It's kinda my new toy nothing too special but i built it my self

Well is the problem that you don't want to constantly have your new pc open all the time? You can have a pretty old computer doing the folding at home if that's the problem or just do the folding when you're on.

From what I understand you have to have an online connection.

it had a root kit i've disabled it but it doesn't hurt to have it online really as long as it's just doing that I wouldn't mind... I use it for burning cd's,movies and playing offline games mostly

ok i downloaded the GPU version for this... might as well see what this baby can do ... still got 2 slots for mem sticks@ 2gig each
