3 at Dewey motel face Salvia charges

DEWEY BEACH — Three Pennsylvania men were arrested in Dewey Beach for having cigarettes containing Salvia divinorum.

The arrests were made about 3:30 a.m. Saturday at the Sea Esta IV Motel, where police were called to investigate a possible burglary, Dewey Beach police spokesman Sgt. Clifford Dempsey said today.

A guest staying at the motel at 3101 Highway One told officers that someone had kicked in the door to an adjacent room and three men were inside.

Officers, assisted by Resort Patrol Security, went to the room and found pieces of the door lying on the ground, Dempsey said.

When they knocked on the door, they could see the occupants quickly moving around, hiding items in the room.

In plain view, officers saw what they thought were marijuana cigarettes and one of the occupants smashing them into the carpet with his foot.

Darren Moses, 26, Christopher Tate, 24, and William Tate, 27, all of Boothwyn, were arrested on charges of possession of a Schedule I non-narcotic and possession of drug paraphernalia.

An investigation determined the cigarettes smashed into the floor contained Salvia divinorum, a psychoactive herb that can induce strong dissociative effects.

The trio were released on criminal summons to appear in court at a later date.

they criminalized salvia now? there should be a law against randomly
criminalizing substances. like out of billions of people, a few hundred get hurt because the idiots smoked it in public and they get hit by cars and stuff. i mean alcohol alone kills thousands and thousands over short periods of time, there is something fishy with the government let me tell you, they just criminalized "spice" for no reason and wanted it to be a class C drug and i might be wrong but "spice" has not killed anyone.

FUCK THE SYSTEM AND ALL IT'S LIES!!:mad2:

why would they want salvia schedule 1?


I don't get it.

Is there actually something behind it or just dumb fear?

Salvia is trash they can ban it all they want.  They charge crack prices for it in headshops and its a shitty scary high when you breakthough.  The only benefit from salvia is the anti depressant qualities you feel after you come down.  I'm sure people will come in and defend salvia but I just can't see anything that could be learned from salvia.

taking salvia seems like punishment enough. not my cup of tea at all i still have a half gram of it and have no desire to smoke it. the laws differing from state in america is some scary shit they can change them as they wish very 1984

i have not taken it yet, but i guess ill try one of these days.
it will be dirt cheap on the black market i bet.

Sometimes people will roll up joints of just the salvia leaf and not extract.

if you do try the salvia try a very small dose to begin with and you'll be okay. i took enough to kill a horse my first time and was transported straight to hell . i've gotten back on the horse and tried it since twice but i just don't like it . the bad trip sucked but hasn't held me back . looking forward to doing some DMT soon doing an extraction next week or so

are bad trips common with Salvia? what ever i love good and bad trips, and thanks for the warning.:thumbup:

People that say they love bad trips either haven't had a horribly bad one yet or are just trying to come off as a psycedelic guru who likes bad trips because they "learn from them".  I'm not tryin to flame you man but I've had my fair share of bad trips and never once have I thought to myself "wow I sure do enjoy this".  Bad trips are hell and the reason experienced trippers can be iffy about taking a dose sometimes while someone whos never had one will usualy always be down to trip.  Thats at least how it was for me when I first started tripping but now I have way more respect for it and how it can go bad in a second if the proper planning and precautions aren't made beforehand.

i think a bad trip can be learned from therefore making it a good think but there is no way you can like a bad trip because then it becomes a good tripp...and on another note i think it is funny these poor people got caught with a drug that is legal where i live...its mostly sad rely

No I'm not saying you've never had a bad trip I'm just saying its hard for me to believe you enjoyed it.  Maybe you did but I just remember how much they suck and would never want another one.  Endless thought loops, time stands still, friends turn into strange people, self consciousness, etc. all things that I don't want to experience again.

Salvia just tends to be overwhelming, I get the vibe of a female energy that dosent want me in her world from salvia as opposed to DMT where as I get a feeling of welcomeness to the psychedelic world

just so you know this was thrown out completely with no charges.  the cops flat out lied about the whole thing and it was proven.  Case dropped. no charges, no probation, nothing...    Dewey is a Joke

I love coming out of bad trips, but definitely the reason they use the word bad is because they aren't enjoyable. Yeah.

Salvia gets stronger as you use it, so the drug guarantees you wont use chronically itself. Combined with this self-regulating fact, and the intense nature of the drug, and I see low potential for harmful abuse.
