it doesn't matter what you saw, after all you can see yourself flying in air but is that real? the question is what have you become and you've become tired and confused and that's all there is to it.

I regret taking psychadelics because you will just wonder about stuff all your life but it won't take you anywhere, you wont be enlightened like the BuDdha or achieve anything great in your life, to achieve great things you have to do great things, and just being amazed at some spiritual thoughts is far from it. thats why u never see that many people from the 70's cuz they're done with it, and believe that they've changed they've seen the light but all they did was waste their time.

I've spent a lot of time regretting hallucinogens, and you're right, it takes you nowhere. You spend all your time regretting it and meanwhile your just making your life suck because you've dug yourself into this big hole and you don't even want to hang out with your friends because they just make you feel shitty because at one point in your life you could communicate with them so well and have a funny time, and now it seems so hard.

You gotta deal with it and move on. I've been recovering from a bad series of shroom trips that shattered everything I once had, everything. My ability to connect socially with strangers, my charm with ladies, my relationship with my friends. I spent a long time wallowing and slowly learned to move on.

I read it... Very intriguing. After trying psychedelics, one may always think to themself "what might've I done with out the use of these drugs?" This is the wrong mindset. You are who you are in that moment. There is no sense in regretting who you might've been, no amount of regret will bring that back. Embrace who you are.

I don't know whether or not my trips are valuable or if it's just my mind being confused :p

I had a wonderful time my first trip, but after that..  All meh. I have gotten nothing but philosophically-enhanced and not a bit happier. Infact, I've probably gotten more apathetic.

Sometimes.. but that's when I'm having a manic depressive episode which I get every now and then, and I think to myself that if I never took psychedelic's I wouldn't be going through this, which is just dumb, but I think they have done a lot of good for me.

No...your lack of happiness is central to your lack of happiness...psychedelics can show you what is missing from your life, where it will be up to you to do the work to do what you have to do to get that happiness. If you are unhappy because you can no longer relate to phantom people, well that is a sad state if you would be happier living a lie. The truth is hard, but ultimately, you have to face death...some people want to hide from that, but I would much rather spend my life getting ready for it than face an ultimate sadness and fear when the time comes. I would rather learn how to not regret now, and find how to live life as real as possible now, than to regret living in ignorance when death comes to take me.

Exactly, I used to think that all my problems were other people's faults, and there was nothing I could do to better myself because other people were holding me down. Then psychedelics hit me like a ton of bricks, and made me realize everything was my fault and nobody elses, and blaming others is ludicrous. That's the one thing you can't forget about psychedelics, they take all of your bullshit and shine a light on it, for the rest of your life - so being ignorant is no longer possible, which I'm sure some people might find troubling, I know I did for awhile. I had no idea I would be playing guitar and meditating and backpacking in the woods a couple of years ago, when I first took psychedelics, but I am and that's part of who I am, and who I want to be.

I regret taking them.  They taught me to be wary of women and black people.  They taught me to be distrustful of midgets and hispanics.  And they also taught me to replace vagina with penis as my sexual plaything of choice (so long as said penis isn't a black penis). My girlfriend left me.  My parent's disowned me.  I live in local libraries during the day and on the street at night.  I dedicate much of my time to homeless cock and picking what could be poisionous mushroom. DAMN YOU MUSHROOMS!!!

How can anyone regret a psychedelic experience unless you came back perma-fried? I feel like even the few trips I have had that were ruff I gained a lot from. Each trip is just refreshing your brain by destroying your preconceived ideas and letting you rethink everything. Then between trips you get caught up in the rat race of reality only to let go again in another acid freak out.

I only regret one trip and that was on a RC that I thought was acid. And if you regret your trips then damn, stop doing that to yourself and just enjoy life.

Of course dude... you can't expect a drug to magically solve things. That's how fuck-ups end up being fuck-ups: by relying on a substance for happiness and not what the substance can teach you. Of course, the things you learn on psychedelics ("enlightened" is debatable, but that's not the point) mean nothing by themselves. The fundamental truth in life is that nothing you will ever learn in your life, sober or not, means anything by itself. What matters is how you go about utilizing such profound lessons in self. For the better. Sure, you could fret on the countless number of poor souls who have failed to utilize the drugs productive power, and have, evidently, gone nowhere. Or you could counter this pessimism by acknowledging the innumerable masses who have become inspired, created beautiful and great things that have inspired others, and ultimately enhanced the quality of life for decades to come.
