i should also point out that the test questionaire frames liberalism as simply being "anti"...
its not in the link..but a US median voter is in the middle of the blue (a poor choice of colours for fascism) square...and my guesstimate is that <5% of all americans fall entirely outside the fascist square...

so far everyone who has posted their results of the test has been on the libertarian side of the spectrum, so why do we have people crying out for bigger government in this forum so often?

This is an interesting test. I think I took it once a few years ago and forgot about it. I wish I could compare with my results from then with my results from now.

Because libertarian isn't really just the opposite of authoritarian. Libertarian should be the bottom right of a diagonal.

I've taken this test several times and posted the results on various forums. The problem with many of the questions is that I can agree or disagree with them under different circumstances, and they want me to choose either or. With that said, my score always comes pretty close to center, with any variations coming from how I interperet a question, rather than a change in my opinion.

There's no such thing as a Libertarian Socialist, that's like being a pro-government anarchist.

Are you from the states? I understand those two words now carry different connotations there, but traditionally speaking the words are very compatible. Bakunin, Luxemburg, De Leon, Kropotkin and to an extent Marx are some good historical examples, in terms of existence in a greater society i would say, Catalonia Spain during the civil war, or more recently the Zapatista are steps in this direction.
So yes there is very much such a thing, and it pre dates the later changes in the meanings of the words.
