So I saw that a lot you like Shpongle. Weird name but what the fuck I'll download a song or two. wasn't too fond of them. I hate trance. So I gave em a second shot and picked up Tales of the Inexplicable and HOLY FUCKING SHIT. These guys have scraped the close-minded earwax clean out of those two holes in my head.

I can't wait to listen to the album and trip.

Too cool for school

If you think that album is good, download Are You Sphongled? I tested that out when I was really stoned, and fuck, it got really weird... :smirk:

I'm hearing ya brother; I listened to 'Are you shpongled' last week after smoking some kind bud and it was an incredible experience.  I got completely lost in the music and it gave me a nice body buzz too.
I haven't listened to it yet while tripping though, but I'm sure a lot of you have

HEY! Hicksville isn't a Shpongle album, you pirate!!!

Please people, don't pirate Shpongle - when you have it cd-quality there are details that LEAP out at you while under the influence of psychedelics that simply DON'T make it to mp3 - I think they're actually doing this on purpose now to reward those who buy the CDs.

Anyway, Hicksville is an album by Simon Posford (The techie from Shpongle; Raja Ram plays the flute..) and Youth, another electronic producer. The first track on the Hicksville CD is called Hicksville.

Celtic Cross - Hicksville is also a really cool album to trip to, but it comes nowhere near Shpongle. Both Shpongle albums MAKE you trip without drugs, and really knock one's socks off with them.

Even if it didnt sound better, its always good to buy the CD and support the artist. If you dont, they may not bother putting out another CD. I've got a burned Shpongle CD, havnt found it anywhere yet as you mentioned. I'll special order it, or get it online when I got a job... I'm a broke ass college student now.  :frown:

You know its cool to say, "I don't believe in buying music because none of it goes to the artist." you can't say that with bands like Shpongle. These guys are not that well known and are on a smaller label. Support the artist and quit this download shit. Plus you won't be disappointed. I just picked up Are you Shpongled today and wha whaaaa whoaaaaaaa!!!!!!! awesome

On top of all that, Simon Posford (Most of Shpongle) OWNS Twisted Records, the label that Shpongle is released on.... So yes, they get money for these albums! Thanks to the good sales of Shpongle II, they're working on a 3rd one right now, and I hope they take their sweet time with it!

I'm most impressed with the really low lows and really high highs in these albums. Once you have it on CD, ride the very "top" or "bottom" of any given track and you'll see what I mean.

Also sound interraction is definitely impressive - sounds travel through and distort eachother in amazing ways - its very "locational" and "directional" sound. Sounds hiding behind other sounds, sounds waiting for louder sounds to come in and cover most of them before they get REALLY fucked-up... all sorts of drama and choreography I'd never dreamed could be possible with audio.
