mycellium/cobwebs?
    #10867809 -

So i tried to take a picture of the mycellium/cobweb? growth on the BRF cakes but my quality of pictures from the camera was poor and i couldnt find a cable to upload pictures to the internet. so here is a better description from my last post. for the overall appearance of all the jars they all seem similar in growth. most are growing at an average rate with the proper inoculation from what i have read. the growth is a white color appearing very dense at the center of inoculation. However you can still see the color of the BRF cakes where it is colonizing at. At the edges of where it is growing outward to fully colonize the cakes they appear to be very stringy at edges. What i am trying to figure out is if this is what they should look like. what i assume is that this appearance of the growth is normal as this is my first attempt at growth. if it was cobweb mold i shouldnt have a 100% rate of cobweb should i? i feel that it is regular mycellium growth if anyone could help me out from the description i have given let me know. otherwise, could someone give me a description of what regular growth looks like inside the jars and if there is a good picture of regular growth inside a jar compared to cobweb growth inside a jar please give me a link so i can compare to what i have. i am hoping for the best please let me kno what you think as most are just about fully colonized

you are probably fine. i don't think that is very common for cobweb to be found in jars.

from my experience, the mycelium always looks a little gray when its starting out. It will thicken up and whiten as it grows. Also, how long have your jars been colonizing. Cobweb can grow extremely fast. Ive heard it can take over a whole tub in a day.  Im guessing you are fine though. Wait it out and don't panic too much.

thanks veda thats a good picture thats basically how mine look. sort of stringy on the edges but overall looks healthy. is it normal to be able to see the color of the BRF cakes through the mycelium?

This jar didn't make it into the pressure cooker and got cobweb mold throughout. It's kinda hard to tell the difference where the mold is dense and white, but the stringy edges are visible. Some of the white specks are gypsum stuck to the glass. It's kinda hard to tell just looking at the jar, much less the photo. But here it is neway.

and this is a cobweb yeti:
