This is an idea that I have been thinking about trying. I would apreciate any constructive criticism that any one might want to share.

looks good except for i think i'd put the holes at the bottom and pump air in from above. cuz co2 is more dense than just plain ol o2.

i think you'll be disappointed with the fruiting space of buckets. If you have a problem with temps you could use your water pump heating system with low profile rubbermade type containers in a shelved system. You could snake the tubing along the bottom of the containers and then put perlite on top of that. I was thinking of using a heating system like this but it's a lot of work to set up, but you can heat many trays with this system. good luck

K... here is an idea on your air exchanger. Instead of trying to put a hole in the bottom somewhere try this, (it should work if the lids fit air tight).
On each bucket side or lid drill a hole and insert your air tube. The inlet side an inch or so and the exaust side cut at an angle and touching the bottom.
As the bucket is presurized the co2 on the bottom will exaust first and drop into the next bucket and so on untill it is all vented out the last bucket. Another variation might be to use a gang valve or t splitters to pump air to each bucket individually.

I think rizo is right..round containers are not an efficent use of space. If you have lots of space and endless buckets I say go for it though!

I was kind of thinking of using it more as a "sick bay". After you clean an infected cake or casing you can use this to help isolate any further contamination. I just realized you would need to have poly-fil in the air hoses between the buckets also. Or a filter of some sort any way.
