What is the Meaning of Life?

There is a question that i believe has been asked by everyone of us at some point in our lives. What is the meaning of it? What is the meaning of Life? Well long ago I came across the answer , atleast for myself and I hope for others too.
The Meaning of Life is to "Give Life Meaning".
If everyone I believe searches in there Heart they will find a calling for something, "to each his own". It's been said that the easiest explanation is usually the correct one, answers dont need to be difficult just because the question is "perceived" to be.
Just a thought.

The meaning of life is to discover that there is no meaning to life. How's that for a paradox.
-------------------- Insert an "I think" mentally in front of eveything I say that seems sketchy, because I certainly don't KNOW much. Also; feel free to yell at me. In addition: SHPONGLE

There really is no meaning other than to experience life.

Once long ago I asked this question and my Self replied "to experience the eternal cycle of growth and death, because that's the only way there can be growth." Or something like that....

I think life doesn't have any inherent meaning, you have to give it meaning. Since it's your life, you can do it however you want. You can meditate and think of preachy axioms, or do mushrooms and listen to shpongle, or become a heroine addict and die of an OD in a bus station bathroom. Or you can get laid as often as possible with as many different people as possible. OH YEAH! No, that's not how I am. Some people are like that, though, and that's cool. Just don't give me VD. Man, I'm totally off subject.

Are you saying that the meaning of life is to live it?
If so, I agree.

I beleive the meaning of life to be to learn about yourself. By knowing yourself you can know the world around you. The universe wants to grow, to do this it must learn about itself, and we (life-small parts of the whole conciousness) are the method through which it does so. We are like the subconscious of the whole. Each life is different and attempts to explore (know)existance/nonexistance from it's own unique viewpoint. As each person/being learns and experiences different things the whole is simutaneously experiencing and processing this new information to learn more about itself and hence grow.

Each life has it's own meaning. No one else can provide the meaning for your life (but there most assuredly is a meaning). Do not look for it in a destination (heaven, or 'the afterlife'), it is in the journey.

"(but there most assuredly is a meaning)"
I'm gonna have to ask you to prove this, or at least give me some substantial reasoning.

Well... my ideas have already been stated singularly...
For Sclorch's answer to "What is the meaning of life?": 1. Combine Safehaven's, 3eyedgod's (Xibalba?), and Evolving's posts. 2. Add CHON (and a little P+S). 3. Bake @ 98.6? for ~77years. 4. Enjoy.

We're not talking about electrons or space aliens, meaning (or a meaning) is not something that can be proven objectively, any more than love (love, joy, and beauty all exist, but can you prove them objectively?). You'll have to discover it within yourself, examine your life, honestly, critically and fully; what frightens you, your weaknesses, your strengths, what moves you, who you share feelings of love or friendship with, etc. Pay particular attention to negative traits, circumstances and events and the lesson that can be gleaned from them. These things are the most instructive and will point you towards what you need to learn (I'm not referring to learning of facts, but learning to evolve yourself towards self-actualization, towards the betterment of the ineffable 'you'). I do not have the resources or the ability to prove it to you, it is your place to discover it if you desire.
P.S. The foregoing was telepathically transmitted to me by Swami.

Bah, Mr just give you props because he agrees. I'm a very self aware person, and the times I've lapsed into your field of beliefs have been the times when I lost track of myself and started thinking subjectively again. You can believe whatever you want, I will too, I just don't want to hear that existence "assuredly" has meaning just because you're quite confident that it does.
NotXibalba: Perhaps you should change your icon, I know everyone here by their image, prolly not the only one.
