what is best remedy for tummy ache when taking shrooms??

every time i do mushies. my tummy hurts real bad.

do i just take some tums or something?

Eat them, then eat food.  Not enough to make you full, just enough to make you satisfied.

eat some ginger.  If these mushrooms weren't dried or handled correctly you could get some bacterial contamination (food poisoning) which can cause an upset stomach.  wrong forum by the way.

Ive found it EMMENSELY helpful to make tea or grind them and put them into capsules as opposed to eating them they way they are.And also as Psuper said(Cause she is Psuper :yesnod:) it helps if they are dried properly.I have never once tripped off of fresh mushrooms that I did not spend half the time I spend tripping throwing up:projectile:,good old fashioned alka seltzer or pepto-bismol has its place as well

I know its different for everyone but I find a nice smoke session really calms my stomach down whether it is upset from shrooms, a stomach virus, or just a general queasiness.

just shoot up some heroine about half an hour after eating shrooms and it should help

but seriously i usally take vitamin c pills ppl say it increases buzz but i find it just helps a bit for stomach also they taste super crazy on shrooms

My boyfriend always suffers from stomach aches when taking mushrooms. I, however, never do. I just suddenly get all bubbly and ... well, amazed at the world haha.

The last time that we were tripping was on a camping trip in the okanagan. We had some peaches and oranges with us. He had a few of those. I'm not sure whether or not it was the vitamine C or if it was just having food but something like that definitely seems like it helps.

Our stomachs don't have the enzymes to digest raw mushrooms.  That's the reason for the nausea.  Cook them.

blend them with a coffee grinder & use caps like someone else said, or make chocolate with the ground mushies, or make tea
the cell walls of mushrooms are tough for us to digest + other things

My girlfriend keeps telling me not to eat rtaw mushrooms because itl make me sicks ( I ove the taste of raw button, closed cup buttom etc) yet it never does and ill eat a ehole carton raw.

But yet sometimes psylocybe mushrooms sometimes do and its not only if I eat them. Sometimes ith tea it does.

An rmpty stomach for me helps and make them with ginger tea. Round about the peak I can eat and hat helps too.

I have found that 2 ginger root capsules ($4 for a bottle at walmart), a small toke, and a rolaids soft chew pretty much eliminate any nausea in the beginning of a trip. I hate starting a trip off with the stomach discomfort, I like a clean and clear launchpad.

and why would eating caps cause less nausea? I'd find it hard to believe that all those millions of spores don't contribute to the nausea.

I think whats upsetting your stomach is the fact that we can't digest "whole" "uncooked" mushrooms. That is why I powder my mushrooms & either pack then into gel capsules or mix with a liquid with Sunny-D or Cranberry juice.

Hope this helps, BTW use a coffee grinder to power your mushrooms.

For some that may be true. I know of people that eating them makes there stomach upset, yet one of my mates ended up throwing up the last 2 times from drinking tea yet the rest of us didnt.

Ive had stomach discomfort from eating and from tea, and times where i didnt at all.

I agree that raw mushrooms are something that most of us are not ment to digest. Though i seem to have a pretty robust stomach and can digest thigns easily, including raw mushrooms. Ill quite happily chew down raw mushrooms and not have a complaint.

I think sometimes the uneasy stomach can be associated with the effects, maybe its in the mind.

ginger tea definatly helps. Wheneve ri make mushroom tea, its always ginger tea it mask the taste pretty well too.

RR what enzyme is it that is lacking,I mean I know ppl who cant digest milk can get the enzyme to do so and with all the probiotioc type product for digestion available nowadays I cant help but wonder if such an enzyme is there to buy in one of those formulas out there :strokebeard:

3 grams stir fry with some snow peas and ginger. sounds pretty good to me. im totally going to try that next. eat it with a small amount of rice. sounds beautiful and tasty too! and it would give me some energy to last through the trip.

I have serious issues with sickeness/stomach issues with shrooms. I woudl eat them a lot mroe if it wasnt' for the sickness, I really hate the hour or so of 'i'm going to puke' and so on.


So.



I either make tea, a very potent small tea, by boiling a cup of water in the microwave and powder shrooms. Put shrooms into water, steep and grind, strain through coffee filter, and add tons of sugar and a pack of cool aid. This cup of tea is easily drank, but still adds some stomach discomfort, and the trip hits hard and fast, but dies down soon.


chocolates are good, they seem to 'stretch' out my coming up time and generally the whole trip. it's hard to eat a lot of chocolate though. I have made very small potent chocolates, but they fall in line with the tea at that point.


I have begun to just much them slowly, just a small amount every 15 mins or so.


Smoking doesn't help everyone. I smoke often and i REFRAIN from smoking untill i'm settled. Whenever my stomach hurts or i feel nausious, weed makes is worse.


I have heard milk of magnesia.


I'm really thinking RR's suggestion of cooking is the best i have heard. I'm deff trying that next time.


But if you have dry?


I say try to get a half quart of moonshine. Soak an ounce of mushrooms (ground to a powder) in the moonshine for 2 or 3 days.


Mash often.


Strain, and squeeze. Strain and squeeze.


Allow the alcohol to evaporate slowly, or put in a hot bath and agitate.


soon you have a extract residue. Sticky and looks very similar to the THC extraction with butane. Scrape this into capsules and your good to do.

It's hard to measure a dose, but if you just divide what you have by 16, you get roughly 1.5 gram capsules. I did a half ounce, and make 8 caps. one of them  and you could tell about an hour later that you had eaten mushies, but it didn't have the normal effect and was generally mild. Eating two did NOT have the same effect of 3g's of mushies, but the trip was there, and NO stomach.
