Say German Kahuna , is the green coloration on the pores natural for this species, some kind of mold or decomposition? Oobajoob, nice thinking with the gloves

Blue staining is a very common trait in the order Boletales which the genus Strobilomyces is part of. Some classification systems distinguish between Boletaceae and Strobilomycetaceae. The blue staining phenomenon is actually due to the oxidization of certain chemical compounds in the mushroom. It neither indicates that the mushroom is psychoactive nor that it is poisonous. Many good edible boletes stain blue. So the general rule of thumb that states that "if it stains blue it is active" should be expanded to include "but not if it has pores instead of gills". There are no known active boletes.

As a matter of fact, it's most likely a good edible.

Strobilomyces floccopus. Edit: Did you say gills? Or did you mean pores? If it's gills then of course it is NOT S. floccopus. In that case you likely have some sort of (Macro)Lepiota or Agaricus species.

Your mushroom might be Pisolithus tinctorius.

Hmmm...
I think I'm going to have to go along with "You can all etibem" on this ID. Good call.
The yellow tubes are the big indicator. The tubes in Strobilomyces species are white to gray to black, often with reddish tints. I had to do a bit of research, because Boletellus ananas is listed in Bessette, et al, as having a dark brown cap, and the photos there show a dark capped mushroom. On the other hand, a search of the Internets shows a strikingly pink capped mushroom that can sometimes be pale capped like this specimen. Mushroomexpert.com shows the pale capped version.
German Kahuna, I gotta admit that my first impression without looking beyond the thumbnails was the same as yours - a Strobilomyces. But when this alternative ID was suggested I decided to look it up (mostly because I'm completely unfamiliar with this Boletellus).
According to Bessette, et al, this is a rare mushroom and it's only known from Florida, but the mushroomexpert collection is apparently from Louisiana.
All of this helps explain why there should be confusion in an ID.
Nice specimen, oobajoob. BTW, Bessette, et al, say it's inedible.
Happy mushrooming!

I think you're on or very, very close. Btw ~ it looked like living shit to me so I didn't pull it out and actually photograph it further. That, and a lot of mosquitos were literally attacking me as I took that shot.
