crying on shrooms * 1
    #10801349 - 08/04/09 08:36 PM (14 years, 5 months ago)

Everytime I do shrooms, no matter how many I eat, I always wind up crying waterfalls at some point during the trip. I know it has to do with the intensified emotions felt, but I'll go from being super happy to suddenly bursting into tears.

Does this happen to anyone else?

Yes, this has happened to me a few times.

The first and most intense time it happened I cried for three hours, in the rain, out in the woods; it was like the mushrooms burst open the damn of repressed emotions. But all in all it felt very very good.

Do you know or have you looked into why you cry?

I've had it a couple of times too.

I always realize things and then have a little pity party.  It's all good.  Once it's over it's like I've gotten a huge weight off my chest.

I'd recommend searching out the source of the emotion.

I dunno, I remember one time I was chilling in my room with my cousin and I laid back and started crying for a few minutes. Another time I was out in the woods in a tent listening to deathcab and I started thinking about being young again and the beauty of life, then I just started gushing out tears. I couldnt leave my tent until I collected myself because I was afraid people would see me. Even though they probably heard me crying like a 2 year old lol.

But shrooms do some weird things sometimes lol.

You might be emotionally constipated.

Best advice is to let it out... It's good for you.

Yes I have a good cry almost every time, it feels fucking awesome

Usually I cry and laugh at the same time and get all covered in snot and tears and sweat

Mushies for me are all about emotions, L is about mindspace more than emotions

lol exact same thing for me. Shrooms are harder to control, but there seem to be more things you can do with your mind on lsd.

I've eaten shrooms twice now (1st time 3grams, 2nd time 5grams). Both experiences were very emotional and many tears were shed :psychsplit:

Felt good though. ^^

Does anyone just cry with happiness? Seems to happen all the time.

In fact, does anyone have any info on the action of Psilocybe mushrooms on receptors for lacrimation?
I find that I generally get really mucous filled on mushrooms (lovely!) and tears tend to come quite easily. Are others the same? I assumed this effect is just the receptors it activates (as well as the emotion it makes)

i always cry like a baby(just becasue of the beauty of it all) i think TOOL summed it up best.

I embrace my
Desire to
I embrace my
Desire to
Feel the rhythm, to
Feel connected
Enough to step aside and
Weep like a widow, to
Feel inspired, to
Fathom the power, to
Witness the beauty, to
Bathe in the fountain, to
Swing on the spiral, to
Swing on the spiral, to

Swing on the spiral of
Our divinity and
Still be a human.

but then again what do i know?

'delics generally, and perhaps mushrooms particularly, bring a lot of repressed stuff up to the surface.  As such, if there is something in your life that is worthy of a good cry....and if there isn't, you're a very rare human.....then cry you will.  Seen it lots of times.

If you are crying after remembering your past then the shrooms are doing exactly what you want them to do! They are openning up repressed memories and allowing you to work through them, eventually you will hit rebirth. Stanislav Grof has a formula called the Basic Perinatal Matrices in which he did research using LSD in the 50's. Check out a book called Psychology of the Future by Stanislav Grof...it will answer your question as too why shrooms are making you cry. They are doing exactly what they need to do!
