Hey guys, first post! haha
I recently decided id begin to research on the cultivation of mushrooms, looks really interesting and fun!
Even the guy i watched in the video recommended you guys for any questions i may have
http://www.mushroomvideos.com/BRF-Pf-Tek
I watched that video and was just wondering, is there any light required while in the fruiting stage? He has a lights section but none of the videos show how its set up.
Thanks!

Well what's your setup??? Good light from the window with a few minutes of direct sunlight every day is optimal. For artificial lighting or supllemental lighting use "daylight" fluorescent bulbs. 6,500 kelvin range for a bulb, "daylight" happens to be exactly 6,500k. Iam upgrading to a 150watt CFL with a reflector later this summer, even that is only $30.00 for a name brand light. I will use that to supplement the light from the window. ~P~

if your only after ok reseults.
bright light in the daylight range will give best performance.
Indirect sunlight from a bright window gives great results.
If you cant use natural light, a fluerescent 6500K bulb will do wonders. On a day night schedule

it doesnt have to be exact, switch em on when you get up, switch off when you go to bed.
As long as theres a clear defined day and night period. Fruits will form in the dark, but it has been shown over extensive testing that giving them day night light in the dayulight range greatly increases performance.
So to answer your question, no you dont need it to fruit. But i highly suggest you use lighting otherwise it can just be a waste of substrate.
