If they have stopped growing then they are aborts.

The best way to identify an abort is normally by the fact that it stops growing and more importantly by the colour of the cap.
The cap usually tuns a darker blue/green colour.
They`re generally difficult to miss when they form.

well you ask about the color of the stem; it should be whitish with a glittering color, like the "filntisi".

Sometimes P. cubensis has yellowish stems also.

Don?t worry, look away, be more patient.

I had the same thing happening to me, stems got dark and just underneath the cap a black ring started to appear. The mushrooms never got bigger than an inch.
But they had an unpleasant odor to them.
Any ideas what this could have been? Some kind of bacterial contamination would be my guess.

ps. I could have started a topic in the Contamination Forum but as i see that this could be something similar i decided to hijack this one instead

 as i said, the stems should have a whitish color, meaning NOT pure white

Anno said the magic word. Patience!
