I am thinking of experimenting with a new tek, basically a modified 50/50. It will contain chicken poo to supplement the peat soil. Chicken poo is relatively high in ammonia, and wondered if this could have a detrimental effect on the mushrooms. Anyone have any experience of ammonia rich substrates?
I wouldn`t suggest using chicken dung. It will inevitably effect the mushroom growth negatively. No form of supplementing is necessary because no nutrients are needed in the casing material. So to buffer your PH added some oyster shell or another form of hydrated Lime.
