Hey, im really new to shrooms and this site/forum as you can see with my First post being this. My question is that i've been hearing that Psilocybe cubensis shrooms taste really bad. I thought thats what has been going around here, but they didn't really taste bad. I have no clue of what strains are pop. here, but im basicly just wondering what the better tasting Psilocybe cubensis strains are.Thanks.

mushrooms are mushrooms, all of them have their own distinctive taste. Mix them up with OJ or put them in capsules.

I have found its not necessarily the strain that determines the taste as much as the substrate that they are grown on. The most tasteless mushrooms in my experience are grow off of rice... Strong tasting ones come off of birdseed or other mixed seed substrates. never got around to growing off straight wheat but maybe a few years from now i'll try it.

Whats with all this stuff about taste ??? Theres plenty of stuff you can mix it with to disguise that ! Use your imagination. Hell, in the past I've brewed up some shroomz and strained em, combined it with black currant jelly (jello if you live in the States) and added a shit load of vodka and left it in the fridge till it set ready for a party. It tasted great ! Otherwise I just bite off chunks big enough to swallow whole or brew it and then add English tea, milk & sugar which tastes fine as well.

Go to sonic or a place that sells shakes and buy a peanut butter fudge milkshake. It could disguise a turd.

blend them with some ice tea, add some lemon ...kinda like tea w/ pulp
then there is the classic peanut shroom butter sandwhich with a nice glass of milk. then there is the classic orange shroom slushy!
so there are ways to liven up the taste

Dauss: "mushrooms are mushrooms, all of them have their own distinctive taste. "
is the closest you came to answering his question. But you didn't tell him which strain might taste good.

no, I mean cubensis have their own flavor. I've tried other strains of cubensis, and they all taste the same to me.

I would say the taste is dependent on what kind of substrate the musrooms are grown on, if someone could only invent flavored substrate..... mmmm substrate.........*drools*

I read someone was about to eat a shroom and mayo sandwich the other day. That didn't sound very nice at all.
I always thought liberty caps were the best tasting shrooms i ever had, so maybe it's the substrate that effects the taste as they were wild from the fields.
I've only home grown golden teachers up to now, and they didn't taste nice at all. I've now changed to Ecuadors (on my first batch), they're nearly ready but i'm not expecting a great difference in taste. I usually grind the dried shrooms and blend that with orange juice.
I was thinking about chocolate for my next try though. Mixing the shrooms in a really strong dark chocolate drink with lots of raw brown sugar. I'm not sure if it'll do it or not, anyone ever try this?

I don't know what the deal is with people making a fuss over eating shrooms! Its not that bad even if you chew! The worst thing is swallowing dried shrooms, make sure you have a drink nearby. But seriously just pop in your mouth and swallow them the whole 'ordeal' lasts seconds!
