Police Make Biggest Drug Bust In Somerset Co. History

Posted: 1:06 pm EDT August 7, 2009Updated: 6:03 pm EDT August 7, 2009
SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. -- State police said officials pulled over a speeding car on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Somerset County Wednesday night and found $1 million in drugs.

Police said it is the second largest heroin bust in the state and the largest ever in Somerset County.

Officials confiscated 25,000 stamped bags of heroin with the help of drug sniffing dogs.

The drugs would sell for $1 million on the street.

Corporal Vincent Mock said Deshawn Ulmer, 45, was nervous during the stop and was driving without a license.

"Corporal Mock did an excellent job and his training and his ability to recognize that there was criminal activity afoot. It's that extra step that this trooper has taken to take the drugs off the street in Somerset County and part of Western Pennsylvania," said Sergeant Tony Delucca.

Tameyka Lawrence, 19, was a passenger in the car, police said.

Troopers said even thought this is a large amount of heroin it still only amount to about 2% of the drugs going across the Turnpike.

Both Ulmer and Lawrence were arraigned on charges of manufacture, delivery or possession with the intent to manufacture or deliver heroin; possession of 25,000 stamp bags of heroin; use, possession with the intent to use drug paraphernalia and conspiracy.

Bond has been set at $750,000 each. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 10.

Both are being held in the Somerset County Jail.

last time I checked 25,000 times 10 equals a quarter mil.  I'm so sure he would get 40 a bag   Fucking pigs are so full of shit they will lie right in a news article and it goes unseen.  Just like Hitler said tell a lie long enough and everyone will believe it.
