Brazilian PF Tek Grow
    #10819880 -

Hey all, Here we go.
I have found that no matter what method you start off with in this hobby,We always have a sweet spot for it in are hearts.
I like to compare it to the one you lost your virginity to.
No matter how many others you have tried you still think about that one
For most of us, This would be the PF TEK.
Which brings us to this grow.

There is not much I can tell you about it other then this.
"""""If i leave something out that you would like to know just ask:thumbup:""""""""
As always followed roadkill and RR recipe for the cakes.
I knocked up with Brazilian LC.
Let sit at room temp in normal room light, I never keep my jars in the dark. An open book shelf works just as well for me as a Incubator:thumbup:
8 days later I dunked for 24 hours,Then rolled in verm.
I would like to take a moment and point out the time line to this point.
I have found in working with this strain, When the cakes have colonized the cake,It does very little to let them sit for a week to consolidate.
This has been the only one I have found this with, All others that I have tried so far have done better with a week of full consolidation.
Ok where were we
Next I placed in my SG terrarium. Thank you RR:thumbup:

The rest is history
You will see that in the pics the first flush was weak but the second was some what good.
I once again do not contribute the weak flush to being deprived of the week of consolidation, I have tried it every which way with the same results, Flushes 2,3 are always the best with this strain.
Once again that is what "I" have found to be true in my working.

I would also like to point out that I did absolutely no misting or fanning once they where in the chamber.
Not that I think its not beneficial, But more of me being a lazy ass.
Most times I have found that if you neglect your fruits to a point they seem to do better then if you baby the crap out of them:thumbup:.

One last thing I would like to say before the pics.
I feel that Brazilian should be the first strain all new growers should try.
1. Fast colonization
2. Literally fruits them selves
3. Great spore depositor

Day 1

Day 2

Day 3 First Pins

Day 5 first flush

Day 9 Second and final flush, I have too many things going on and get board as hell after the second flush with anything.
You could easily get 4+ flushes from this strain

Well I hope you all enjoyed.
Any questions just ask,As always I'm more then happy to help if I can:grin:

I got a question. I recently did a grow similar to the one you just did. I controlled humidity by spritzing the sides of the container and giving it plenty of FAE. However I noticed the mushrooms which grew from the lower regions of the cakes absorbed a lot of water from the moist perilite resulting in really WET and not dense shrooms. I was wondering if there was a way around this moisture problem?

you should try making a mat of some kind say aluminum foil and rest the cake on top of it. so then it will limit absorption.

spraying the sides does squat for humidity. You want the moisture in the air perlite and to be absorbed by the cakes. On the walls, it just sits there doing squat.

dont sit your cakes on the perlite, use foil or jar lids. cakes become water logged if you do that which can cause poor performanmce.

Op, nice grow. thats interesting about that strain.

I tend to agree that in some circimstances the 1 week wait may not be nessesary. I had a whole batch of cakes pin 2 days after full colinisation.

Rip off a sheet of tinfoil and fold it in a squar just a little bigger then your cakes bottom and set it on there.

By the way. Intense mushies bro! Im digging the second flush picture, in the very upper left corner that thing has some monster gills!

right on

That's from my grow. I mean I still got nice pins, nice fruits, nice harvest. I just don't want the bottom fruits getting locked up with moisture. Thanks for the advice everyone! I'll try putting them on metal lids next time.

The dark coloring on the mushrooms and perlite is just spores.

Ive seen what youre talking about, its a trip.  I remember hearing somewhere that spores are released from the basidia at the human equivalent of something like 16000 G's.  (or some crazy number like that)  So theres a lot of force propelling them in all directions, thats my theory, who knows

Nice grow tho OP!  I also have some braz going at the moment on grains, well see how they like coir!

Like others have said, Simply put a square piece of aluminum foil down which in return will prevent the cake from making contact with the perlite .

I would also like to point out that, I have never had an issue with putting my cakes straight on the perlite.
I personally think its a waste of time for me.
I fell and have seen better results from letting the cakes rest on the perlite themselves.
I did a test once, The out come of the test is now my avatar Pic.

On that cake I filled a bowl with about a 1/4" of tap water,Placed my cake in the bowl as if it were going on my perlite.
As you can see there was no problem with the cake, The choomys where all good:grin:.

Once again this is just what i have found to work for me.
What works for one,Many may fail with

Thank you to all for the compliments
