Prescribed Abilify 10 mg. Only taking half because it makes me too anxious. Even at 5 mg I feel uncomfortably restless.
What does shroomery recommend I do?

Talk to your doctor about this. I don't know much about abilify. Your doctor will probably prescribe you some kind of anxiolytic substance to calm your nerves while you are on abilify. Check out http://www.askapatient.com.

Abilify did nothing for my shizo. Rather than anxyolytic treatment try a new med, benzos wouldn't be good, they'll add to many problems.

Mental illness in most cases would require meds, telling someone on an anti-psychotic to go off is a very bad idea. They aren't always required, but they help a lot more than most think.

If you have a severe mental illness like me meds are an only option. Sorry I don't like people following me wearing stiched pieces of human skin.

Well you apparently don't have a mental disorder, you can't talk your way through a brain abnormality. Therapy does work, I'm not denieing that, but you can't control delusions and hallucinations that appear regardless. Maybe with a mild to moderate disorder you can get to the point where you ignore whats going on, but people like me can't do shit, ever go to a psychotic ward? Some people are too far gone to be symptom free, I'd just rather take my meds, go to therapy and keep up with my doc cause that's all I can do. Trust me, if I could not take meds I wouldn't, no question.

Need the pills to start the therapy to address the underlying issues, otherwise I'd just talk and talk and never get anywhere.
Just looking for a temporary, non-prescription fix until I can talk to my doctor again. Thanks.

You may have Parkinsonian effects from the Abilify. After a high dose of Risperdol for one month I've had Extra Pyramidal Symptoms ever since (Medication Induced Parkinson's). This is extremely common with the newer anti-psychotics. Talk to your doc ASAP, if it doesn't go away after discontinuation you may take Cogentin (Benztropine) to help with it. Most people have it go away but my bitch doc caused permanent neurological damage from dosing me with twice the legal limit of meds for an adult when I was 13.

abilify can really mess u up, i'd say take stop taking it. what s causing your anxiety? it's either your thoughts or the environment around you (probably both), so you have control over your thoughts by meditation and your environment by changing where you spend your time.
just a guess, but do you live with your parents? that usually creates some anxiety.
anxiety is common, its a product of our messed up collectivewayoflife.
good luck. all i gotta say is, read up on the side effects of that drug, and don't take benzos cuz they are addictive.
meditation is key

if what he has is akathisia, then "anxiety" is the only word that can be used to describe the feeling, but it is a highly physical sensation
its basically chemical torture

Abilify did not work for my bipolar.
Tricyclic antidepressants actually make me most "normal". Amineptine works the best of those but is nearly impossible to obtain at a decent price.
Benzos put me right out to pasture.
Im usually depressive with periodical euphoric bouts of mania. The mania I had no problem coping with, its the depression that I do.

Talk to your doctor about it, and try to get on something else.
I highly suggest that you avoid benzo's like the plague, though, unless you're only getting like 10 a month for extreme anxiety.

I'm on Abilify recently for schizophrenia/mild psychosis. I shouldn't be on it, IMO, but I did freak out so I'm going to stick with it for a month or two and then see what happens. I plan on getting off this shit within a year, cause it makes me a bit anxious too (I do 15MG, I read that higher doses could possibly lead to less anxiety, but I find that hard to believe) plus I just don't wanna be on it, cause of possible side effects. I'm possibly moving to CA so I'll switch my Abilify for medical pot if that happens.
How does Abilify combine with marijuana (I'll try that soon) and psychedelics (don't want to try that...)?
