WOW, muscle cramps HURT

So I woke up at 8am and did one of those full body stretches that feels so good to do the first thing you wake up. Except this time my calf muscle LOCKED UP completely. Man talk about unexpected pain. I was rolling around in bed and almost broke my teeth it hurt so bad. It took about 30 seconds for my calf muscle to finally relax.
So now it hurts like hell, like every time I take a step and it uses that muscle it HURTS. WTF, how do I get this thing to stop hurting? It feels like I almost ripped the muscle apart.
Has anyone ever had this happen? It's happened to me a few times in the past, but never near this bad. It was like getting hit with a stun gun in the back of my leg for over 30 seconds.

Depending upon how much damage the cramp did, you may be limping for a couple of weeks.

Ya my brother was telling me to eat a few bananas. Will that actually help?
It was so strange, it literally looked like I took one of those electric muscle simulators and cranked the fucker up to 10. My friend did that in high school just fooling around and it tore his bicep muscle.
Oh well, bananas here I come.

nah, you just need to stretch your hammies and calves more, calf flexibilty is the worst with most people, i stretch and work out everyday for the navy so you most likely just hyperextended your leg cause ya don't stretch enough, it litteratly has NOTHING to do with genetics, hopes this helps

I used to get those. My brother showed me this technique that gets rid of them instantly though. When you get one, pull your foot upwards as far as you can towards your shin and the cramp will quickly subside.
Trust me man, it works. I used to wake up and find myself getting one, but i always do this and the muscle starts to relax instantly

I think that's what ultimately relaxed the cramp but I was half asleep and didn't know what to do to get rid of it so it went on for about 30-35 seconds before I could finally get it to go away.
Now any pressure on the front of my foot upwards (like walking) hurts like hell. The damage has been done, now it's just a matter of the pain going away.

When that happens, turn your toes up,stretching them towards the ceiling as much as you can. This will get rid of it instantly.
I had it for about 5 minutes when I was younger, didn't have a clue what to do,was in so much pain.
I think it's from a periodic lack of salt.

Ok great, now I know how to get rid of it next time it happens, but that does jack shit for the pain now.
