Anxiety attacks, and how you deal with em?

Ive had a past history of anxiety problems, just havent been as bad as there getting.


I recently had a pretty damn bad one doing a speech in class, worst feeling i have ever felt.

it was horrible.

probably gonna go to the doc saturday and see if i can get something.

anyone with anxiety problems want to chime in, how do you deal with it? what kinda meds would they put you on?
probably xanax im sure.

They probably won't put you on xanax on your first visit unless you are like me and your blood pressure is through the roof when you get nervous.

They will try some type of anti-depressant at first and maybe give you klonopin for a few months until the anti-depressant kicks in but don't count on it. Odds are it will take a few visits before you get anything that works immediately.

if i get any anti depressants im not taking them

i would like to stick with benzos.
benzos work for me, even a low dose that would get me through the day.

you dont need prescription drugs

just do a little research on meditation and start off slowly... it is key in getting rid of anxiety AKA dis-ease

Well if you are going to have that talk odds are against you but I would suggest asking for klonopin. I used to take 1 mg 3-4 times per day and it worked great. Some doctors aren't understanding though and for whatever reason refuse to prescribe any drug in that class.

I used to have very bad anxiety problems, but they eventually just went away over time. I say deal with it, face your fears, you will only become stronger.

Benzos can be okay every now and then, but to have a dependency on those crutches will be a bitch, and your problem will never be fixed.

well i went in there and said i had trouble sleeping and got prescribed ambien right away.

i act dumb in there, but honostly i know as much if not more than he does about shit i think.

i cant have this SSRI shit because that takes a while to take affect, and i will have like 4 or 5 more projects due before that.

i need a fast acting benzodiazepine.

idk ill have a talk with him and see what he thinks i guess.

i tried getting a benzo prescription from my doctor but I obviously didn't tell him what drugs I wanted, just that I have some anxiety, so he gave me some zoloft shit and told him I don't like it, but I'm not gonna pursue further because he said the next option would be psychiatrist - fuck that shit!

just deal with life head on.  you will get better over time

yeah but having an anxiety attack everytime i hjave to do something i dread is not the best thing for me

i have a pretty bad problem with it.
its terrible.

do you smoke marijuana?

wondering if that could be the problem or if it could help?

i have gotten marijuana anxiety sometimes which lead me to my new view that it's easiest to just be straightforward when you're around people (don't over think things too much) and try not to worry about what people think.    you gotta have a fuck it attitude


think in terms of- who gives a fuck about anyone else?

there's gotta be some reason for your anxiety/  i get anxious sometimes in my town around people because it can be very quiet.  but i know when I'm in the city or in a place with more people-  it's much easier to not give a fuck about these things.  maybe that is your problem?        :confused:

oh and, aderal works extremely well for it but don't self medicate too much or you will NEVER get over it.

Yea I went through a short phase where I couldn't smoke without having horrible anxiety but it didn't last long.

welll i do smoke...
it makes it worse.
but i stopped smoking as of a week ago or so.

still having crazy panic attacks.

i just cant have the fuck it attitude though..
idk its just not me i guess.
im so self concious about my self infront of a group of people and i think thats were it branches from (the anxiety)

Be sure to tell your doctor that. Klonopin is really good for social anxiety like that...I wouldn't ask for the drug though. You'll have to find a doctor/psychiatrist who believes in the drug but those doctors are growing fewer and fewer every day.

but if i say that i need something that will start acting right away instead of the SSRI's which take a while to take effect?

i'm very self conscious too sometimes  but I realize the problem and try to  throw it out the window.    FUCK WHAT ANYONE THINKS!

i know in anxiety situations- talking can help a lot.  try to stay around good vibed people- I notice that chilling with uptight people can make me uncomfortable to0- so i avoid people like that.

this is one of reason i think psychedelics or weed can make me anti-social sometimes-  it makes the negative vibes stand out so much more apparent  and you can see through people's ego games IMO  :thirdeyeani:


another good thing that helps is to try and zone out to things.    :bongroll:
