Cold Shock newbie
    #1081419 - 11/24/02 12:08 PM (14 years, 11 months ago)

OK so, im not a TOTAL newbie, but never done casings or cold shock. I cased on 11/11 and ive got strong myco growth all over these bad boys but no pins. I cold shocked one of the casings last night and I was wondering what time frame after cold shocking I should start looking for pins? They are the PF strain (amazonian?) and are in a large clear tupperware with plenty of humidity fanned 2-4 times a day.

well, it depends on so much factors. usually after the coldshock [at least 24 hrs of coldshock] pins appear in 4-5 days, but thats my case, which means that this happens in my conditions [temp+humidity]. If yours are different, or the substrate was different or even the strain or print of the strain can result in different timeframes.

The key is Sterility and Patience.

IT WILL FRUIT, BELIEVE IT OR NOT [unless you mess up things and it gets contaminated]

GOOD LUCK!

Casings don't need cold shockings, or all my casing have never been cold shocked and they pinned.
