New to shrooms, new to growing

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting here. Anywho, I've never done shrooms before, and since no one I know has any, I'd figure I'd giving growing a shot. I read a few guides and such, and it doesn't seem hard, but I know I'd suffer from Murphy's Law when it comes to sterilizing and I will probably screw it up. So, I figure I should start out with one of those presterilized kits from sporeworks.com. For about 35 bucks I can get a syringe and presterilized bag. My question is, has anyone ever tried one of these bags? Do they work well, and how much do they yield approx? I'm sorry if this question seems stupid, but I just couldn't seem to find a straight answer anywhere else. Thanks

I personnaly never tryed those, but sporelab has an ok reputation, you should try it out, and 35$ isn't THAT much :smile:

I'd try it out, beats having to redo ure stuff cause of contams...

i used one and was very unsatisfied, nothing not anything grew, the mycelium shit didnt even grow, temp was right, everything was right, i couldnt even get a contam to grow. i'm thinking i had a bad syringe or maybe bad bag who knows

I've tryed three of those "Myco-Bags" in the past and I've gotten zero results, so I decided to begin on the PF-Tek.

DON'T DO IT! Do the PF tek, it's dead easy. I was in you shoes at the beginning of October. I got some syringes and since then, less than two months later, I have harvested monster flushes from plain cakes, cakes cased a la sea of shrooms tek, two 50/50 casings, a plain verm casing, and I even spawned a tray of dung which produced the most kickass beautiful mushrooms I've ever seen. The PF tek is bloody easy (I have not had ANYTHING contaminate, and I have only been somewhat careful). I pasteurized the dung myself without a thermometer, and I mixed my own 50/50, and before I did anything I assumed it wouldn't work, but everything has come along beautifully. Don't get any short cut simple beginner things, because you will have to learn the PF tek sometime so do it right now!
