Purified water necessary for boiling cacti?

Pretty long title, but I couldn't think of anything better.

Pretty self explanatory. Is it necessary to only use purified water for boiling active cacti, or could you use tap water from the sink?

I'm pretty sure that boiling the water would take care of this problem to begin with...  :what: ?

I don't know how fast chlourine and flouride boil out, and I don't know if they'd have any effect on the mescaline.

I was recently reading about boiling water to purify it of chems and something said it doesn't get the chlorine out. i'll try to find the source.

scroll down last one. not sure how reliable that is but alot of other sites say different things. the people that say it does boil out don't claim to be chem professers.


BTW it's ok to make your tea with tap water.

It's more than alright, think about it... cactus tea IS the traditional method of ingesting San Pedro' mescaline. I doubt that the aboriginal people of old used to go to the store to buy plastic bottles of purified water before making tea :lolsy:

I doubt they got it chlorinated and flouridated from a tap either which is what the OP was wondering about.  But you're right that it works.  I've used tap water and everything came out just fine.

its totally fine to use tap water, or bottled water it doesnt really matter much but i suggest to add fruit oranges, lemon and limes to it maybe some berries to acidify.

River water/spring is typically fairly pure in comparison to bottled water. Of course this was before cattle were ranched on North America and began pooping in every river.

It's not LSA.  That little bit of chlorine and fluoride isn't going to do squat. 

If you're doing an A/B, you want to keep everything as pure as possible, but a simple tea is nothing to worry about.
