Alberta has 80% of Canada's oil, so the protest from there was "your taking a provincial resource to use for the country, if one province controlled it, it would be better for that province (us)'. A selfish position, especially from the point of view of the rest of Canada.
i live in the biggest fuckin oil city in alberta.. Fort McMurray, and Yea.. We have Just as much or MORE oil then fuckin oil then any place in the middle east.. or so studies by a company i study for shows...
Alberta fuckin rarely agrees with our PM... he is a fuckin jackass...

You think the USA doesn't need us as much as we need them? The USA is just as dependant on it's partner countries as they are upon it.
A big reason why Canada can afford the socialized medicine is due to the fact that they don't have to worry about fielding a viable military because no one will fuck with them because they are next door to the USA.
We don't have to worry about other countries fucking with us because we don't piss anyone off so no one wants to fuck with us.
The Canadians love to complain about the Yanks, but if not for the Yanks, the USSR or China would have annexed Canada long ago.
I love when people try and push this one. That's like me saying that if it weren't for my personal actions, the USA would have been taken over by Mexico a long time ago. There's no way to prove or disprove either one because attempts were never made.

You know who is a moron?
Bush.
THE MAN CANNOT EVEN SPEAK.
Invertigo said this is debatable? Come on now man. You hear him? We are talking about the simple practice of using your mouth to make sounds here...and it's too hard for him.
He is a moron.
He gets nervous whenever a word with more than two syllables finds its way into his babble.
I mean....
He's a moron.

****He gets nervous whenever a word with more than two syllables finds its way into his babble.****
while i will concede that he's not the most eloquent speaker in the world he does have an uncanny ability to make people do want he wants them to do...better than Klinton if ya ask me. It's funny how he can talk the limeys and frogs into something that they don't want to do.
as how he speaks, well I've seen some of the smartest people at the Univ. of Michigan speak and they sounded like they were of average intelligence at best...as a side note I'd like to see if any of us could take the pressure like the president does and stay calm, collected and eloquent.

Bush is a moron...in related news, water is wet and fire is hot. Stay tuned for more gripping coverage of these late breaking stories.
On the other hand...
No, stupid people can't navigate their way through the world. Bush has navigated his way through the world with a ruthless ambition couched in lethargy. That's not stupid; that's brilliant! 'I'm gonna do nothin' till I'm 40. I'm gonna be drunk, I'm gonna party down, I'm gonna go crazy, and you know what? I'm still gonna be fuckin' President!' That's stupid?! I mean -- that, that -- that's mind-blowing! Stupid is, 'Oh my God, I just ate soap!'

Dude, you and your buddy are so prone to misinterpretation. Of course the USA has many problems and other countries have a right to criticize the USA. The point I was trying to make was that the USA is not what's wrong with the world.
There are aspects of Canada that are superior to the USA and vice versa. And you have the right to hate the USA all you want, but please recognize that in a world where the USA was not the so-called 'sole superpower' (a fallacious statement), chances are pretty good that you would not have the autonomy that you now have.
The CIA and the American military have meddled too much in the affairs of other countries, but it's much better than a world dominated by the USSR or Nazi Germany or Communist China.
I'm more of an isolationist. I would rather the USA withdraw from much of the world. So don't try to paint me as some red, white and blue patriot that believes the USA does nothing wrong.
Much of Canadian criticism towards the USA is warranted, and a lot of it is just downright childish sniping.

Heh, woah there man, I don't hate the USA. I don't agree with the administrations point of view on many things...but that's not hate. I don't hate, because hate is exactly what causes all this trouble in the first place.
The thing I don't like about the US is how they (the govt, anyway) feel the need to interfere in the policy of just about every other nation on the planet. They use strong-arm tactics to get what they want when they want it. Time and time again I see the USA take action for it's own good at the expense of others. That's what I don't like.
But I still don't hate the USA, our friends to the south.
Peace is where it's at.

You're right. Most Americans have no idea who Canada's PM is, or any other country's leader for that matter.
Now, as far as the criticism, I think it's childish. Just because you disagree with Bush does not make him a moron. Liberals tend to have an elitist attitude where they assume that everyone who doesn't think like they do is stupid.
It has cost them dearly in the last election. The average American voter is of average to low intelligence, but they are not as stupid as the Liberals think they are. The Democrats have run the exact same campaign for the last 50 years. Merely saying that Republicans want to give tax cuts to the richest 1%, and endlessly repeating it, is no longer the end all and the be all of winning elections. They have to come up with at least 1 new idea.
