Reverse tolerance with psychedelics?

It's very possible that this is due to potency, but looking back I've realized it's taken less and less to get me to where I want to be following two ego shattering trips, one with mush, the other with lucy.

Initially, an eighth could get me tripping pretty nicely. Now I've noticed I can get equal, if not stronger, effects from a half eighth. My trips also seem a lot more introspective than they once were and I tend to prefer being alone.

I doubt there's any known physiological explanation for this, but does anyone have any insight or similar experiences?
Is this just my mind becoming more open to the experience?

I have noticed this as well..I'm glad someone else posted it. I still take no less than an eighth (everyones different) but i used to dose upwards to 7 and now 4-5 take me where a quarter used to. I think once your mind has been "unlocked" its easier to 'open the door' in a kind of sense that you don't have to "fumble with the keys" at the entrance. I know that was alot of analogies for one statement but its kinda hard to describe what I'm trying to say.

Also i have noticed that tripping alone you can more freely "let go" and it seems to take less when you do, to take you where you want to go..seemingly because your not holding on to your ego because there are people around..that's in my opinion.

Once you have been to the other side, getting back is alot easier because you know what your looking for in my experience.

And hey, if a half eighth rocks ur socks...then its that much less money (time if you grow them) that you don't have to spend ;-)

I think once you've had some asshole ruin your trip by projecting negative vibes one too many times, you end up preferring solo trips.

That said I still very much enjoy tripping with a select group of friends. Hardly ever dose anything besides pure Molly at concerts or festivals anymore. That and a whole lotta weed. :smile:

With experience it may just be that you begin to appreciate the lower dosages more and are able to pull yourself to the same mindstate more easily. Also you learn to embrace the trip more fully, no mental fighting to reestablish reality.

Nah, I totally get what you're saying. It's like psychedelics take a "route" into your brain, and the first few times it can be hard to follow. After more and more trips though, it's as if you're able to get on the "route" yourself that you were already on last time, and thus go a bit further.
