well what methods have you tried so far??
and what were the reasons they didn't work?? Was there contamination? Find out your mistakes, and work from there.

I agree with Vinnney. We can probily find out what you are doing wrong and correct it so you can be successful. You might have just got a bad spore print/syringe.

well, i am making my first attempt at shroom growing as we speak, so i can't tell you how easy it is. but from my readings, it seems most newbies screw up because we don't read the directions the masters are giving us because we want to shortcut. i am determined not to make this mistake myself, and if you do the same, by sterilizing at every step, then i'm sure you grow a few after a few weeks.

I say go for the cow shit anyway. There is something pleasant and natural about the idea of eating shrooms that grew up in there in their home, rather than in little jars and a plastic cage.

But I have had problems growing indoors anyway.
First batch: Misused pressure cooker; substrate burnt; didn't even get to innoculation

second batch: did everything by the book (simple cubenis growing technique that is)
no mycelium; i've determined non-viable syringe, since I've tried high and low temps, and waited 3 weeks, and nada.

third batch: hopefully will produce some nice cambodians from ryche hawk. knock on wood.

All, my first post was misleading. I apologize, truth is I've only assisted a friend who was trying to grow back in college, I don't know what method he used... pressure cooker, petry dishes, it's been quite a while. I'm now married and my situation does not lend itself to indoor growing ('cause of my straight nosy wife).
Back then we experienced high contamination rates and dumped the whole batch out of paranoia. I guess I was just looking for the easy way out; thanks for your replies though.
