3 questions on fruiting

1) when placing cakes in the fruiting chamber can they set directly on the perlite?
2) Can different levels of growth be occuring in the fruiting chamber? example... casing - starting to pin, cake jus being birthed, cake on 2nd flush all in the fruiting chamber at once...but obviously introduced to the chamber at different times
3) To maintain proper temp in fruiting chamber (80-85 F?) can the fruting chamber be nestled on top similiar container using aquarium heater/water (incubation setup) to keep temp? - or does this dehydrate the perilite?
thanks!

1. you can set the cake on the perlite if u want to some poeple do. I have read though that u be careful that u dont over hydrate your cakes. They will suck the water from the perlite.
2. You can put all those things in your fruiting chamber if u want just make sure u leave enough perlite surface area exsposed so it can generate adaquate humidity.
3. I says in the FAQ that optmal fruiting temps are between 70 - 75 so u might not want it to be that hott.
Peace

well your questions are pretty much answered
sitting cakes on perlite may give you fat assed water logged fruits... i wouldn't do it ~ but i don't grow from cakes anyway, so it's not a problem
different levels of growth can occur in the fruiting chamber - however, if you want to induce fruiting properly, you'll want a slight temperature drop ~ and if you keep a constant temp for an incubating casing as you do for fruiting cakes, that will defeat the temp drop technique
good luck TW

Can you cold shock a casing and then put it in a fruiting chamber at 82-86F? Will pin formation still occur? or do you have to maintain 72-76 for the whole time during hyphal knot/pinning formation?
