Boletellus ???
    #10780945 -


Location: Central New Jersey, U.S.A.
Habitat: In a lawn underneath trees, some leaves of which are in the photo. (What kind of tree is that?)
Gills: Pores
Stem: 5-10cm. long, 1-6cm wide, smooth to wrinkled, semi-hollow
Cap: 3-10cm. wide, cinnamon color, smooth, circular, convex
Spore print color: IP
Bruising: None observed
Other information: Strikingly yellow stems and pores. The yellow stems are what caught my eye.

That is a very yellow bolete you got there! Wouldn't venture a guess as to what species, but I'd be surprised if it didn't turn out to be an excellent edible.

Yes!!! They smell delicious, and I'm ready to sauté these babies; however, being a sane person, I won't eat it until I have a positive ID.

Well, I have a foray tomorrow, so I'll bring them for the Ph.D's to verify for sure. But, as you said, I think that I have a match. I'll eat a tiny piece tonight.

It's definitely NOT a Tylopilus with that bright yellow glowing pores.

Quite possibly the (Boletus auripes) specie.  Really bright yellows!  Nice!  :peace::redpanda:
