Great with cream cheese!
-------------------- To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.' Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence. Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains. Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

There really is no "Swami Logic", there is only logic.
You have yet to use logic yet tho, that's the problem. All we ever hear is "swami logic" which is something entirely different.

Hey Alex, i'm not trying to start and/or continue anything here that doesn't really concern me, however i thought you might find some of the material contained in this link re E(specifically) and serotonin depletion(amongst other things) to be of some interest

Er..we're talking about tripping not Ecstasy. Mushrooms work by a completely different mechanism than Ecstasy.

I don't understand. Can you give one example where Swami's logic was flawed?

"The point of my logic was NOT to infer that it MUST exist but rather that it should NOT be ruled out simply due to the fact that it cannot be held in your hand, or seen under a microscope."
You have no understanding of what science is. You're more ignorany of science than swami is of chi.
Science won't necessarily be able to let you see or feel chi. Science will be able to tell you if what is happening is the result of some invisible magical force, or simply self deception caused by wishful thinking.

Just wonderin'

For anyone who thinks science is flawed, here is a good explanation of what scientific testing means: http://www.skepdic.com/control.html
Oh, and by the way, there is no possible way anyone can know what happens when you die.

Ya, Ohio St won 14-9 and was FINALLY was able to keep an undefeated season alive thanks to a Michigan turnover near the end of the game. As you may know, Michigan spoiled EVERY undefeated season for Ohio St since 1979 (spoiling perfect seasons in 1993, 1995, and 1996). Since 1986, Michigan also kept Ohio St out of the Rose bowl five times (in 1986, 1990, 1993, 1995, and 1996), and even beat them the one year they made it in (1996).
It's about time Ohio St fans can celebrate. They've been in misery for nearly a quarter century. Now they're off to the national championship game on Jan 3. May the best team win.
Oh ya, and yes they do still stick those silly marijuana leafs on their helmets.

When my body dies it will become worm food. My essence will continue to exist and perceive. Anybody who disagrees or tries to argue my opinion with logic will probably experience an eternity of nothingness, void of emotion when they die, because that is what they believe in. Personaly, Id rather continue to exist and learn than to cease to exist all together. I will become one with the eternal light and love.

To every subject there are multiple points of view. To use joy as an example: you won't know what the totality of the term 'joy' means unless you have experienced it yourself, but it can also be conveyed through music, plastic arts, poetry, proze, etc. Furthermore, it can be described and explained by the exact sciences and the social sciences. Now, on the subject of the soul: I believe our bodies rot away (but then again, they don't disappear, because they're recycled). I don't believe in what most people would call a 'soul': I don't believe in our conscious personality migrating from host body to host body. I believe our consciousness exists on a different level than our material body. That level is, to me, a form of 'finer' energies - energies we can't detect yet. Auras and Qi (if they exist) would fall under the collective term finer energies. Our brain is the instrument that links our body to this finer energy. Interaction is possible in both directions, the mind can manipulate the body and the body can influence the mind, because the two 'dimensions' overlap. The 'soul' doesn't perish, but it doesn't keep existing, it needs the body (which doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't exist without the body). At least, that's how I see it.

I dunno about love, but there is only one "soul," and we're all tiny "pieces" of it. When one dies, I would assume that at least parts of the "soul" or whatever it is decomposes and gets recycled just like most of the physical body does.
I believe we are fragments of a larger soul as well.
Could this be proof of something?
