West Coast Florida Shrooming

Hello all,
First I'd like to mention how wonderful of a community this is. I've found so much useful information here and I really appreciate all the time and work that has been put into this place.
However, I do have a quick question. This weekend I will be traveling to the West Coast of Florida, technically: Englewood, Florida. Now I can't help, but remember hearing that this is a great place to do some shrooming -- because of all the cow pastures. Yet, I also heard rumours that most cattle are fed special grains to prevent psilocybin mushroom growth and that getting busted for trespassing can have hefty consequences.
So, my question is this: Do you think it would be worth trying to gather some shroomies while I'm over there? Anyone familiar with that area during this season? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

As far as getting busted goes, I'm assuming you are going with family to visit (no one goes to Englewood for fun). I'd ask them if they have family friends that own a farm, tell them about mycology and all that, and see if they'll let you have a go at their pasture. If not...don't get caught. It's harder to prove you unknowingly picked active species when they catch you at 3 am knee deep in shit high as hell with a few paper bags of mushrooms. The best way to do it, if you're worried about consequences, is with permission.

you should read some of the florida find threads and discussion, some folks have been finding some really nice mushrooms lately. i've heard the special grain fed preventing growth idea as well, i think it is probably mostly untrue, too expensive and not worth it to anyone, and yes, trespassing is taken very seriously unless you know for sure otherwise. take a look around, safely grab whatever looks the most like what you are looking for, take pictures, don't eat it if you are not sure what it is

my mother said, to get things done, you'd better not mess with Major Tom...whose status is the baddest, everytime 'they' bless the apparatus

i know that in northern florida, cattle farmers receive feed that keeps mushrooms from growing in the shit. also, ive heard thats either sold at a reduced price, or given to the farmers for free.

Me neither. I live in northern Florida and nearly everyone who gets shrooms just picks them.

I'm very familiar with Englewood(I live right up the road) and I hate to break it to you but there are no pastures for at least 15-20 miles away. Now the debate about anti-shroom feed is ridiculous, some people swear it exists but it's just way too much effort, when guns and cops do a fine job keeping most would-be shroomers away.
If you have a car when your down my advice is to head east and that's all I can really say.

Sorry for the delay. The information came from a friends grandfather. They lived next to a cattle field. So yes, I shouldnt have said that "I know..." but the cattle field next to my friends grandparents house stopped producing for my friends and that was the accepted explanation.

That's a quite shitty explanation, I wouldn't believe it for a second.
