it's a win/win for the money grubbing whores in DC, you have to
turn in your car for the voucher which means you could very well
be out a significant chunk of cash, it may have been a $6500
trade in value and you'll possibly get stuck with only $3500,
suppose selling it outright could land you $8000 to put to your
new car, what if you're still making payments on the old POS
because you bought it used

ya but a lot of these cars these people r trading in are total clunkers oldskewl that wouldnt even fetch 1k on the market

it will eventually collapse but until then money can be made out of thin air

nope, they must meet certain criterea, if the car is that old they
know you'll be getting another one anyway because the old thing is
probably on it's last leg so to speak, anything older than a 96
doesnt qualify

The money for this comes from the creation of new money.  Very simply put, this is worse than straight up taxation because this behavior devalues the money already in existence.  Think of it like "Uncle Sam" reaching into everyone's pocket and stealing just a little bit every time he wants to spend money on something that he can't pay for.

This has been going on for some time now.  The purchasing power of a nickel in 1913 is approximately equivalent to a dollar today.  Wages don't keep up with this devaluation of the dollar and the middle class has been drifting closer to being just poor over the years.

You can check out mises.org if you want to understand REAL ECONOMICS and not double-speak bullshit keynesian economics!

Huh?

I am guessing that you mean the prices will adjust to inflation (which is the creation of new money) and people can't afford to buy anything.  Then government starts price fixing throughout the economy and we go the way of the Roman Empire?

I think it is a good idea. I mean, we are going to be fucked one way or the other, might as well take a car that gets less gas mileage than the one we potentially buy and get more than they would give to us anyhow. And some of the automotive companies will double it and then you can haggle with them because there business is in shabbles.

Take advantage of it.

and in the process completly fuck over the -$4,500 car market for the buyers. What buyers are in the price range? Poor people.:lol: My brother in law was trying to buy a car in this price range and now he's even more fucked. This was simply about the unions from the start. Obama sure cares about poor Americans.:rofl2:
