I think it's bullshit if shes mooching and still continuing to use ANYTHING. I'd bring it up with your mom by saying you think shes using again and maybe your mom will confront her about it.

Hm most moral dilemmas are retarded but this one actually is sort of tough.

This is just my opinion, but I think that pretty much no matter what you never have a right to go through another person's shit. That being the case, I'm not sure how moral it would be to use this against your aunt.

I guess it really depends on how you think your mom would react. I assume it's basically up to her what happens with your aunt.
If you think your mom would want to know, consider telling her, but if this is just gonna start unnecessary shit then I'd leave it. You didn't exactly have a right to find this info anyway.

I am living with my mother because my father committed suicide less than a year ago, and none of us took it very well. I am 27.

I was thinking like pmb and gonna tell my mom that I think she is using again.

I know I should have minded my own business, but a junkie bitch is taking advantage of my grief-stricken and deeply depressed mother, and it infuriates me.

The problem is that I am a snoopy asshole pussy who doesn't want to admit that I was searching through her room.

There's no possible way for us to know the circumstances in which the guy's mom took the aunt in. Even if the OP hates his aunt (which would be total speculation) it's his mom's house, and presumably his mom's sister as well. You know literally nothing about this woman or her situation or anyone else's situation in this affair, and yet you're passing judgement on her and taking sides. Seems pretty inappropriate to me.

If she had serious drug addictions in the past In my opinion it only makes good sense to check up on her.
My first inclination is to suggest intervention with strings attached because after all she suffers from a sickness.
I would secure any valuables that might be a temptation to her and you definitely should inform your mother.

Well I was generalizing, it sounds like the woman is a nuissance, and I know if some annoying junkie moved in with me, I'd want her out. Forgive me for posting my opinion.

I've been in a similar situation (not a junkie thing or anyone moving in, but cheating etc. etc.) and I kept to myself, but that's kind of difference.
